According to TMZ, late singer Aaron Carter's fiancée Melanie Martin has been given complete custodial rights of their 13-month-old son Prince, who has been under Melanie Martin's mother's care since September.
Melanie Martin issued a statement in which she revealed the court's order and conveyed her enthusiasm about regaining custodial rights of their son, adding that Aaron was heartbroken when their son was separated. She continued by stating that she appears to know Aaron would have been thrilled with the news and that the win is in his honor, and that she only desires Aaron Carter had been there to share this special moment with her.
Melanie revealed on Friday that the couple hoped to reclaim custody of their child by Christmas as well as take a vacation in Colorado together. She said the late singer had desired to relax by the fire and observe the snow fall with their son.
In September, Aaron Carter revealed that the pair had lost temporary guardianship of their child because of domestic abuse prompted by their drug use, which is the reason Prince was placed in the care of Melanie Martin's mother since September. Aaron also decided to enter an outpatient rehabilitation facility in September to regain custodial rights of their son, and he told The Sun via video that he participates in counseling sessions, parent training, and domestic and family violence classes, as well as getting certified in CPR and other things.
Jane, the late singer's mother, stated following the judge's decision that she is delighted with the judgment because the child, who is just 13 months old, should be reunited with his mother. Prince has not yet met his grandmother, although she has stated that she desires him to acquire all of his father's holdings considering that she and the rest of the family do not require the money, as well as what Aaron Carter has left is all his son's.
Melanie Martin also told US Weekly last month that she doesn't want any stress or problems concerning Aaron Carter's estate, and that all she wants is for their son Prince to be taken good care of and Aaron's legendary status to live on. She went on to say that who would want to be in Prince's life can be.
Aaron Carter was found unresponsive in his bathtub by his housemaid last month and although his cause of death has not yet been declared, it was very well known that he struggled with his mental health. The musician passed away without a will, so his mother Jane asked Aaron Carter's twin sister Angel to file a request to serve as supervisor of his property.
On Tuesday, November 29, Aaron Carter's mother, Jane Carter, told TMZ that Melanie Martin would not be invited to scatter the remains in the Florida Keys. Leslie Carter who passed away of a drug overdose in February 2012, her ashes will also be spread, according to the family. According to an exclusive source, Aaron Carter's fiancée and the mother of her son Melanie Martin will not obtain any of Aaron's remains. The insider however adds that the OnlyFans creator will be holding up a service /memorial for her late fiancé along with some of his real friends, her family and their son.
Earlier this month, Martin spoke candidly to the US about mourning for Aaron Carter. She stated that just about everything concerning his passing away and aftermath happened so quickly that she is still in shock and trying to process the fact that she'll never see Aaron Carter's face again, noting that he was a fantastic man who loved to care for his family. Melanie stated that Aaron never did give up on her, trying to emphasize that despite their differences of opinion and breakups, they could not live without one another. Aaron's fiancée stated that she was looking ahead to a future with the singer, including marrying him and having more children with him, that she appears to believe the two of them were close and that she was excited to spend the holidays with her family again. She went on to say that she is heartbroken and can't wait to see her brilliant soulmate again and that they never decided to give up on their love, and both of them couldn't live without one another.
