The 'Deadpool' actor Ryan Reynolds has announced that he is taking a break from acting after wrapping up his upcoming Apple TV+ movie, ‘Spirited’ which is expected to be released in 2022.

Ryan on Saturday shared a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from ‘Spirited ’which will feature Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer. He captioned the post, "That's a wrap for me on Spirited. I'm not sure if I'd have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago. Singing, dancing, and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a lot of dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great @octaviaspencer. "

The 44-year-old actor also added that it’s the perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making and added, "I'm going to miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I've been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both."

The 'Free Guy’ actor’s wife, mother of their three daughters, and Gossip Girl alum Blake Lively poked a little fun at her husband by commenting on his post, "Michael Caine did it first."

Michael Caine stated in a recent interview that his role in "Best Seller" was his "last part," and everyone assumed that he was retiring from acting. But later, Caine’s representative denied the speculation and said that the actor was not retiring. "Regarding retirement, I’ve spent over 50 years getting up at 6 a.m. to make movies, and I’m not getting rid of my alarm clock!" Caine said in a statement to Variety.com. The actor also tweeted which said, "I haven’t retired and not a lot of people know that."

Whereas when it comes to Ryan Reynolds, he has announced his sabbatical from movies for a while to focus on parenting his three beautiful kids. Co-star Octavia Spencer commented on Ryan Reynolds’ post and said, "You’re an amazing actor/singer and producer. I had a blast working with you, Will, and this outstanding cast and crew! Enjoy your downtime". A lot of other celebrities also embraced the actor's decision to take some time off work and spend his time with his kids.

There is no doubt that Ryan and Blake are known to poke fun at each other, especially on social media. From Blake sharing some unflattering pictures of the actor on his birthday to sharing memes that showcase the difference between mothers and fathers when it comes to the first day of school, or when Blake shared a promotional picture from her film with Anna Kendrick, 'A Simple Favor', Ryan responded in the best way he could. The actor wrote, "He seems nice,"

After the announcement of his sabbatical, a lot of fans and his supporters expressed concern for the actor, to which Ryan responded by sharing the definition of the word "sabbatical". The screenshot read, "A sabbatical can last anywhere from two months to a year. In general, six months is the standard length of time for a paid sabbatical.

During his interview in 2018 with AOL Build in May, the actor explained that he and his wife Blake take turns working because they don’t want to miss out on anything with their children, who are their priority. He said, "For me, it’s really about prioritizing. We’re lucky enough – and this is an obscene luxury – that we can avoid sort of saying, ‘OK, well, Blake, you’re going to go to shoot a movie in Thailand, while I’m shooting this movie in Vancouver.’ We sort of trade off."

Ryan was promoting "Deadpool 2"  during the time of his interview, and he stated that he was waiting to go back home after the promotions were over so that Blake could go to work. He further added, "[I’ll] just watch the kids and be with the kids. I never want to be on my deathbed, and look back and just go, ‘Oh, I missed out.’ I love being with my kids."

The actor went straight from a Free Guy promotion into filming Spirited, and a little sabbatical right now seems like a valid choice if he yearns to spend time with his daughters.

Meanwhile, Blake Lively has just debuted her latest business venture, a brand of cocktail mixes named 'Betty Buzz.' She's also set to act in a love drama called The Making Of alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda, Diane Keaton, and Richard Gere.
