Met Gala has been known for its very outrageous and daring outfits for years. From threadbare to completely sheer gowns, the attendees never seem to disappoint when it comes to their fashion sense during the event. The audience has seen some quite amazing transformations to extravagant entries during the show, and this year, the Met Gala was just as fabulous as ever!

The Met Gala is an occasion for famous people to come together and raise money for the Costume Museum. Last year, the event had to be postponed due to the unpredicted surge of CoronaVirus, and now it was held in all its glory in two separate events. The date coincided with "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," celebrities had even more reason to up their dazzle and allure.

But apart from the usual glitz and glam of the festive occasion, the Met Gala this year will be forever known for its political statement dresses. There was an abundance of gowns and designer wear that helped people boldly exclaim what they thought of the policies, society, and norms around them. Here are a few Met Gala fashion wear from this season's event that the world remember for years to come:-

Carolyn B. Maloney

The American politician has been serving as the U.S. Representative for New York's 12th congressional district for eight years now. The New York City Rep. wore Suffragist colors from the 1917 women's movement. Her white gown ran with purple sashes and a gold cape, which were embellished with the words "ERA YES," which stands for saying yes to the Equal Rights Amendment. She completed the look with a green clutch embossed with the same words.

The Rep. made quite a lot of buzz with her beautiful white Brother Vellis dress and the statement painted with red on its back that read, "Tax The Rich." With the statement, the Rep. wanted to create conversations about "working-class women of color at the Met" and also "breaking the fourth wall," which, of course, was quite a shattering statement for the rich peeps out there. However, people were quick to notice that AOC herself was at one of the most elite events in the world, which would make the rich richer.

Cara Delevingne

Cara is well known for her stand against patriarchy, and when it comes to the Met Gala, her statements are no different. Cara wore a daring white top with white pants and the front reading "Peg The Patriarchy" in red. Her dress was an ode to women's empowerment.

Describing his costume, he said that he wishes to focus on all the love and resilience that the LGTBQ community is showing and also wanted to honor the original artist, whom he said to be a "crucial American voice that was taken from us too soon."
