Here is what the critics had to say about the movie after the 2021 Venice Film Festival, where the movie was premiered:-

What to expect from the movie?

"Everything about Dune works. From Hans Zimmer's AMAZING score to Greig Fraser's stunning cinematography to Bob Morgan and Jacqueline West's gorgeous costumes…the movie feels like they went to the other side of the galaxy and filmed what was really happening," said Steve Weintraub, a film critic at Collider.

The Los Angeles Times also said, "With methodical poise and seat-rattling spectacle, the French Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve (who wrote the script with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth) draws you into an astonishingly vivid, sometimes plausibly unnerving vision of the future."
