Dating cast members on the set is always a tricky job. Especially not knowing how far your affection could last means that things can turn pretty sticky if the couple breaks off in real life but have to continue things on the screen. There are just too many stories about film franchises dissolving because the castmates broke up in real life and could not continue acting together as things got too awkward, right?

Well, the forbidden aspect of on-set dating is kind of what sets most of these relationships apart. On the other hand, dating incredibly attractive people on-screen would simply mean that it is easy to attract feelings and actually fall for cast members in real life. The love story of Tom Holland and Zendaya on the sets of Spider-Man follows around similar lines.

In fact, the franchise's producer, Amy Pascal, revealed that she had specifically advised Tom and Zendaya not to date in real life when she started working with them. Of course, the two did not make much of the advice and fell head over heels in love.

Recalling the time when she first talked about their forbidden romance with them, Pascal revealed in her December 17 interview with The New York Times, “I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture.”

Despite the actors trying to keep their relationship under wraps, people soon started spreading rumors about the two, and most of it was based on reality. While the two actors tried staying low-key and kept their PDA to the minimum, people spotted them kissing and being very cozy around each other this year in July. Soon, the internet was flooded with the pictures of the two, together in a car, sharing a kiss as they drove in Los Angeles. Hence, the evidence finally put the last piece in the puzzle confirming what fans had been speculating for a long, long time.

Needless to say, the two spectacularly failed at Pascal's 2016 advice which she had relayed to them when they first started filming Spider-Man back that year. The two showed to have an amazing on-screen chemistry that was later seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming. To preserve any fall out between the two, Pascal had said, “Don’t go there — just don’t. Try not to,” referring to the two dating each other.

The producer had provided the same bit of advice to her previous Spider-Man Andrew Garfield who had starred in the series along with Emma Stone. The producer had said a firm no to on-set dating between the actors who would get to play the legendary characters of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey. Of course, the advice sped their dating like a catalyst, and the two fell in love.

Their film The Amazing Spider-Man had hit the theaters in 2012, and the couple had continued to date for four years, eventually calling things off in 2015. Their final film from the series had landed in theaters just a year earlier. So, Amy Pascal recalled,

“I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma. It can just complicate things, you know?” and added, “And they all ignored me.”

Pascal was lucky that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield carried on their romance until the film franchise was well behind them, but the same can not be said when Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst had started dating. The couple had got together while shooting for their first Spider-Man film but broke up just before they had to film the next one in the series.

Things certainly got bad between the two, as Pascal can remember. The producer, who got to work on all the Spider-Man films, would have given the same advice to that couple, too. “They apparently began dating with each other, I think, in the middle of the first movie … although I didn’t know it at the time … but definitely they eventually broke up before the second movie,” said director Sam Raimi in a 2007 interview with Sydney Morning Herald.

The director added, “I was concerned they wouldn’t get the same chemistry back, but it was just me worrying. They really like each other, I think, very much. And that relationship probably just added to their ability to trust each other.”

Fortunately enough, Tom and Zendaya pulled off things with a lot of elegance and scored the jackpot with their relationship. And now that they may have already starred in what will be Tom's final Peter Parker movie, the couple might once again get to star together in HBO series Euphoria.

The actor recently told IMDb that he has been trying to secure a spot at Euphoria along with his lady love, Zendaya, who has already earned her place in the series. “Listen, I have been petitioning for this for a long time, and it has not happened yet.” “I must have come to visit Euphoria at least 30 times this season,” added the star.

Season 2 of the show has already kicked production, and shooting ad Tom Holland is still not on the show. Presently, he is only able to tell Zendaya about his wish as he said, “I want to be in Euphoria,” and as Zendaya has already won an Emmy from the show for her portrayal of Rue Benett, she might secure him a spot soon enough. The optimistic girlfriend already gave Tom hope when she said, “Let me talk to some people. HBO. Let’s get them on the phone.”
