Two weeks after the jury at the Fairfax County Court in Virginia announced their decision in favor of Johnny Depp, Amber Heard is appearing for an interview with Savannah Guthrie for NBC’s one-hour primetime special to talk about the infamous defamation trial. The interview is scheduled to air Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

The interview's promo was released along with some clips, and insiders close to the actress believe that she waited until she was ready before coming out about the trial and expressing her truth, and now that she is, she feels it's a good moment. According to the insiders, the actress's team encouraged her to stay low once the decision was revealed and take some time for herself to observe how things went.

Amber Heard is now positive and secure in her ability, to tell the truth, and she has a plan and strategy in place to return in the next year. Amber Heard is heard saying that she does not blame the jury for unanimously finding that she had defamed her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, with her op-ed that she published in 2018, but that she understands why they reached that conclusion. The actress went on to say that Johnny Depp is a well-liked person who makes people feel like they know him and is a brilliant performer.

Savannah Guthrie, who did not sugarcoat things and said to Amber Heard that there was no polite way to say it, that the jury looked at the evidence she presented, listened to her on the stand, and did not believe her and added that the jury thought she was lying. Amber Heard responded that the jurors could not have reached that conclusion after sitting in those seats for three weeks and hearing nonstop, relentless testimonies from paid employees and, near the end of the trial, random people who came in and testified for her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.

Amber Heard referred the random people as the luxury trailer park owner and Morgan Tremaine, who worked at TMZ and who had testified that they received the edited video of Johnny Depp slamming the kitchen cabinets, which stated that Amber Heard leaked it or got it leaked through someone. Morgan Tremaine also testified that they got a tip that Amber Heard was going to the courthouse to obtain a restraining order against the actor and described exactly the way it happened.

In the released clips, Amber Heard is heard saying that she doesn't care what people think about her or what judgment they make about what happened in the privacy of her own home and her marriage behind closed doors and that she doesn't think the average person should know about those things so personally. However, she added that even someone who believes she deserves all of the hate and vitriol she has received or who claims she is lying could not look her in the eyes and tell her that her social media representation has been fair.

Amber Heard stated that she never started the fights between the pair, but rather responded to them, explaining that when you live in a violent environment, it becomes normal and you have to adjust. Savannah, on the other hand, reminded Amber Heard of the courtroom tapes in which she admits to beating Johnny Depp, to which she responded that there was no evidence of what was happening, but the audio snippets were evidence of how to talk about it with your abuser.

Savannah asked her to explain more about her admitting to starting a physical fight with him and said that she couldn't promise she won't start again and then said that she never started a physical fight. Amber Heard testified that when a person's life is in danger, they will not only take the blame for things they shouldn't take the blame for, but they will also take the blame for things they shouldn't take the fall for when they're in an abusive psychologically, emotionally, and physically dynamic and don't have the resources to say, 'This is black and white because it's anything but when they're living in it.'

The Aquaman actress at one point shared that the 20-second clips or the transcripts of them are not representative of the 2 hours or 3 hours that those are excerpted from. When the host asked why she did not submit the recordings in full length she said that she is not a lawyer and said that as she testified, she was talking in those recordings as a person in an extreme amount of psychological, emotional, and physical distress.

Amber Heard said that Johnny Depp's claim of never hitting her is a lie and said that the witness he is are the ones who represent people who will file rank and support the person they depend upon. She also stated that she is not here to identify any of his witnesses, but rather to discuss how it felt for her as a witness and that she will stand by her testimony to the end of her days, concluding that she has always spoken her truth. She added that the verdict which was announced in Johnny Depp's favor is setback for women and she has never been humiliated so much in her life where she felt less human.

More information regarding Amber Heard's thoughts on the verdict will be released when the interview airs on Friday, but she expressed her unhappiness with the decision mere hours after it was revealed, calling it a setback for women who sought to speak up. Amber Heard’s attorney, Elaine Bredehoft, mentioned in an interview she gave the next morning after the verdict was announced that the defamation trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp at the Fairfax County Court, Virginia was not fair because they were not allowed to present a lot of evidence and were asked not to tell the jurors about the U.K. trial, along with stating that they believed that the jurors were influenced by social media.

After questions were raised about Amber Heard's decision to give the interview in the first place, her spokesperson released a statement saying that Johnny Depp's legal team blanketed the media with various statements and interviews on television for days after the verdict, and Johnny Depp himself did the same on social media. Amber Heard meant to respond to what they did violently last week, and she is doing it via this interview, which allows her to voice her thoughts and feelings, much of which she was not allowed to do on the witness stand, according to the statement.

Amber Heard's team criticized Johnny Depp's attorneys for taking a "victory lap" with their recent interviews, even though Amber Heard's attorney Elaine Bredehoft gave two interviews the day after the verdict and went on record to say that Amber Heard does not have the money to pay Johnny Depp
