Actress Amy Schumer is embracing motherhood and being grateful.

Recently, the actress took to her social media to share with her fans and parents the importance of being a parent and how challenging yet beautiful the entire journey is. She posted a picture of her son Gene David Fisher and wrote, "Being his mom is heaven on earth and also means a constant feeling of guilt and vulnerability I will never get used to. Your heart feels like it's outside your body and you're too old to drink the feelings away like you used to. When you were in love and scared. Send help!!!"

Amy’s comment section was soon filled with comments from fellow celebrity parents who relate to the actress and Queer Eye star Tan France who along with husband Rob France welcomed their first child, son Ismail via surrogate in July 2021, commented, "Yep, that's exactly how it is and feels. It's beautiful and terrifying." Singer Carnie Wilson who has two daughters Lola and Luciana commented, "Every deep feeling you thought you felt in your past is totally SQUASHED by the love meets total terror for your kids!!!! I get it!!!!!!!!! But the blessing of laughing with them and seeing them turn into their own self is remarkable!!!" Lesley Ann Brandt of Lucifer who is a mother to 4-year-old son Kingston also commented on Amy’s post, "The accuracy of this post."

Amy Schumer welcomed son Gene David Fisher with husband Chris Fischer in May 2019 and has been vocal about the lengthy cesarean section she went through due to her endometriosis. In an episode of Informed Pregnancy and Parenting Podcast, the actress spoke candidly about her pregnancy and said, “I was throwing up through the first hour of my c-section. It’s supposed to take about an hour and a half — mine took over three hours because of my endometriosis, and that was really scary.” Amy also shed some light on her decision to have a hospital birth rather than the alternative birthing center that she had previously arranged for. She explained, “It was a rainy Sunday and I woke up vomiting and was like the sickest I’d been the whole time. And I was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ I was so big and I was so miserable and couldn’t keep anything down.”

Amy went ahead and gave credit to her husband who was with her throughout the long process and helped her to calm down a bit and said, “It was kind of brutal. But Chris was so great — we just stared in each other’s eyes and he just held me there. Then they let me hold Gene for a good amount of time. I got to see him and hold him.” Amy Schumer has previously shared, “Giving birth is the most terrifying thing you’ll ever do that’s completely worth it. Having a c-section was … my pregnancy was so hard, I was just very ready to meet my son.”

The actress recently shared a picture of herself in good spirits, looking strong and healthy, and revealed that she is doing so much better after her surgery for endometriosis and liposuction. She wrote, "I feel good. Finally. It's been a journey thanks for helping me get my strength back @seckinmd(endo) @jordanternermd (lipo). Never thought i would do anything but talk to me after your uterus doesn't contract for 2.5 years and you turn 40. @paulvincent22 vickie Lee (acupuncture) my girl Nicole from the tox my friends and fam. The couple changed their son's name from Gene Attell Fisher to Gene David Fisher as the former sounded like 'genital'. She explained during a podcast episode, “So do you guys know that Gene, our baby’s name, is officially changed? It’s now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realized that we, by accident, named our son ‘genital.’ Gene Attell sounds like genital". She also added that “David” was a better middle name also because it is her father’s middle name.

Amy Schumer will be seen next in ‘Life and Beth’, which is going to premiere on Hulu on March 18th and it stars Michael Cera, Violet Young, Susannah Flood, Yamaneika Saunders, Kevin Kane, Larry Owens, Laura Benanti, Michael Rapaport, Rosebud Walker, and LaVar Walke.
