While Marvel Studios has started hyping its upcoming superhero blockbuster The Eternals as the film is inching closer to its release in the theatres next month on 5th November. The film's superstar Angelina Jolie during its carpet premiere has made a surprising statement by saying that why the studio took so much time to feature such a diverse cast in a superhero film like The Eternals.

"I know, and you know what's really quite stunning is that when we walked out all of us together, it didn't feel like, 'This is so new and cool,' it felt like, 'This is how it always should have been,' Why did it take so long? It felt so right," the 46-year-old Jolie said to Variety.

Variety then asked why Jolie felt this took so long to happen. "Oh god, there's so many reasons," she replied. "I could say many things, and I could go on for a while, but I think... it is so good to just bust a hole right in that..."

Jolie went on to say that she is very hopeful that when the audience watches the film in the theaters, they feel that the film has such a diverse cast. "What I hope is that when people watch this film, they're not seeing it and saying, 'Oh, this is a film about diversity. This is a film that shows this person can be a superhero,' they'll just say, 'Well of course that person's a superhero, and of course that person also is. Of course.' And more shame on us for every questioning that they couldn't be because, 'Of course,'" she added.

While the fans and followers will enjoy Jolie as Thena in her first superhero film in the MCU, the actress recently addressed the possibility of her appearance in MCU's future films. She stayed silent on her future with the franchise. "I don't think I can say that," Jolie replied when asked about her plans to return down the line. "Good try, though," Jolie said while speaking with Total Film.

She added, "I was given the 'could manifest weapons in my hands' [power]. A lot of my training was really fun, to try to figure out how to fight that way," Jolie explained while discussing her preparation for the role of Thena.

The upcoming superhero epic Marvel Studios The Eternals is directed by award-winning director Chloe Zhao with the screenplay by Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo. The duo Ryan Firpo and Kaz Firpo also works as the story writer of the film. It will be produced by Marvel Studios and will be distributed under The Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
