Britney Spears is all set to pen down her conservatorship experience in her memoir along with much more undisclosed details of her life.

According to reports, pop icon Britney Spears has reached a landmark deal with publishing house Simon & Schuster to pen down her story including her conservatorship experience, her career, her family and many more undisclosed details about her. The deal is said to be worth as much as $15 million.

It has been reported that there was a legit bidding war among various publishers over the memoir of pop icon Britney Spears and the $15 million deal is one of the biggest of all times, behind the Obamas. The rights for the book of former President Barak Obama and first lady Michelle Obama was sold to Penguin Random House in 2017 for a whopping price of $60million.

Britney Spears’ life has been full of ups and downs, especially considering her 14-year long conservatorship, which had been put in place by her father Jamie Spears in 2007 and its end last year in November. Britney Spears herself appeared in court and requested the judge to end her trauma. She said, “I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized. I just want my life back.” Judge Brenda Penny announced, “I believe that the suspension is in the best interests of the conservatee.” As soon as the verdict of termination of her conservatorship was announced, there was a sense of rejoicing and freedom that spread throughout the world because her fans and people who grew up watching the pop icon could see the pain she was in.

Last week, Britney Spears was invited to US Congress to discuss her conservatorship legal battle and speak about her empowering and inspiring journey. Congressmen Charlie Crist and Eric Swalwell wrote to Britney Spears on 1st December 2021, “It goes without saying that we have been following your conservatorship closely and we're elated that you were able to both remove your father as a years-long conservator in September and finally terminate your conservatorship entirely in November. Your journey towards justice will inspire and empower many others who are improperly silenced by the conservatorship process. Many concerning issues that are commonplace in the guardianship and conservatorship process were brought to light. Especially troubling was the news that, for years, you were unable to hire your own counsel to represent your personal and financial interests. Other issues surrounding the initial petition, the eventual permanence of the conservatorship, and being forced to engage in employment against your will, are all equaling concerning. To that end, we wanted to personally invite you and your counsel to meet with us in Congress at a mutually convenient time to describe in your own words how you achieved justice. There is no doubt that your story will empower countless others outside the millions that are already inspired by you and your art. Please know that you have absolutely no obligation to do anything more but fight for yourself, but if you are willing, we would appreciate learning more about the emotional and financial turmoil you faced with the conservatorship system.”

The singer took to her social media last Wednesday to write how over-whelmed she felt while receiving the letter thus the delay in the response, “I’m grateful that my story was even acknowledged. Because of the letter, I felt heard and like I mattered for the first time in my life!!! In a world where your own family goes against you, it’s actually hard to find people that get it and show empathy!!!! Again, I’m not here to be a victim although I’m the first to admit I’m pretty messed up by it all … I want to help others in vulnerable situations, take life by the balls and be brave!!! I wish I would have been… I was so scared and nothing is worse than your own family doing what they did to me … I’m lucky to have a small circle of adorable friends who I can count on. In the meantime thank you to Congress for inviting me to the White House.”

It is not new for the audience to know that things haven’t been smooth with Britney Spears and her family especially her sister Jamie Lynn Spears who was publicly called out by Britney Spears for using her mental health and incidents as an excuse to promote her own memoir. Britney Spears wrote on Instagram at the time, “Congrats best seller…..The nerve of you to sell a book now and talk s—t but your f—king lying…..I wish you would take a lie detector test so all these masses of people see you’re lying through your teeth about me !!!! I wish the almighty, Lord would could come down and show this whole world that you’re lying and making money off of me !!!! You are scum, Jamie Lynn.”

Mathew Rosengart, Britney Spears’ lawyer not only helped her to get free from the conservatorship but also issued a letter that stated that the singer is not going to be bullied by her family anymore. The letter read, “Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she.”
