Pamela Anderson is ready to share her story first-hand.

Actress Pamela Anderson recently announced that she would be sharing her side of the story related to the infamous sex tape with Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee firsthand in her "intimate" and "definitive" Netflix documentary.

The actress’ friend had previously shared that Hulu’s successful show "Pam & Tommy," which deals with the infamous sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, was never approved by the actress and she did not want to get involved in the project. They added that the mention of the series or talk about the tap causes more damage to her than it did back then. But, because there were a lot of questions swirling around the two of them at the time, Pamela Anderson teamed up with Netflix to share her own story firsthand.

Pamela said in a statement, "My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor. And alive to tell the real story. " The Netflix documentary about the former Baywatch actress is untitled but is being directed by Ryan White and Brandon Thomas Lee would serve as one of the producers of the documentary. The project is going to launch under Jessica Hargrave’s Tripod Media banner along with Julia Nottingham for Dorothy St Pictures and Lee. Josh Braun serves as the executive producer.

Netflix tweeted that the film will "feature the pop culture icon setting the record straight as she looks back on her professional path and her personal journey". The announcement of Pamela’s documentary came as the audience started loving the performance of Lily James, who plays Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy, while Sebastian Stan plays Tommy Lee. The audience has expressed their positive response towards how beautifully and authentically Lily plays her on-screen.

During an interview for a cover story for Variety, Lily James mentioned that she wanted Pamela Anderson to be involved in the project if she wanted to, and Lily did try to reach her out too but was not successful. The makers also added that they respected Pamela’s wish to stay away from the project, and Lily added, "My sole intention was to take care of the store and to play Pamela authentically."

The source close to the former Baywatch actress mentioned, "After the tape was made public, it was a very traumatizing situation for her, and it's unfair that she is being re-subjected to this trauma, like re-opening a wound. Pam deserves some level of respect. She's a human being and a mom. There's a sense of hypocrisy about it. It's her life and she should have the decision [as to] whether it's turned into a commodity for public consumption. "

According to reviews online, the makers of the Hulu series have been very protective of the images of the actress and the drummer, and they had their research done in such a way that it would not harm their public images today but would make the audience think about their actions having repercussions. In an interview, Lily James, who plays her on-screen, shared an interview that she loved getting into the costume of Pamela Anderson as she felt really powerful and brave. She added that there was a sense of having a feeling of liberation that came as she dressed up as Pamela Anderson.

Lilly James added in her interview, "Women are held to much higher standards and attacked in ways that feel so vicious. Pamela had such wit and grace in the way that she held herself. I admire that strength. I suppose that there’s a way of deflecting attention for more worthwhile purposes." The similarity between the two is uncanny and audience has mentioned that it almost feels like they are watching Pamela Anderson on-screen.

With Pamela Anderson’s announcement of sharing her story about the things she went through first hand, a few things are certain to happen, including the audience getting more information about how the leak exactly happened and what the things that were going through Tommy and Pamela’s minds when they saw it unfolding in front of them. The date for the documentary is yet to be announced.
