Fugees is a renowned American Hip Hop group of the 90s'. The name might sound futile, but actually, it derived from the word 'refugees' by cutting it short to 'Fugees.' The group consists of three members, namely, Wyclef Jean (a Haitian), Pras Michel (a Haitian-American) and, Lauryn Hill (an American).

The band originated in the early 90s' in South Orange, New Jersey in the United States of America. Although the group's prime brand name is "Fugees", yet it was known by many other names like 'Refugee Camp', 'The Rap Translatorz' and "The Translator Crew". They are famous for their competency in the two genres of hip hop. The first one is progressive hip hop while the other one consists of alternative hip hop. It is not the end, they also perform in many other genres like hip hop music, rhythm and blues, rap, soul music, reggae, contemporary rhythm and blues, rap music, and reggae fusion.

The most rocking group reunited after 15 years for a live show in New York. This totally amazed and mesmerized the audience as they were able to see one of their favorite groups performing after one and a half-decade!

Rumors about the reunion tour of Fugees were widespread for days until the official announcement was made on Tuesday. The news of "a multi-date international tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the group's hit album of 1996: The Score" went viral and made the fans and followers excited for the big day.

And the day came pretty soon, with the group performing at the Roof at Pier 17 in New York at the live show performed in partnership with Global Citizen Live. The show marked 3500+ attendees who had to wait for a long while (3.5 hours approximately, past the time scheduled for the event) for the band to perform just a few songs.

"The Score" (1996) was a bold album, one of its kind that shifted the perspective of seeing hip hop as a street play to a platform that is more mainstream, sophisticated, and has a global reach. It particularly reached out to its members sharing Caribbean heritage. The album was very lucrative in that "CD era" and made a hit sale of seven million copies worldwide.

Despite the fame achieved by the group, it soon separated, and its members started focusing on careers of their own. Many thought that this separation wouldn't prove fruitful for their future prospects, but guess what it did not turn out that bad.

In fact, in the case of Lauryn Hill, it turned out to be great with her even more popular and great selling debut "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" in 1998, whose sale and popularity was even above her last great hit, namely "The Score."
