Ben Affleck May Play A Cameo Role In 2022's 'The Flash'

The 49-year-old actor Ben Affleck will be returning in DC's upcoming movie 'The Flash.' A new report from blogger KC Walsh suggests that the Hollywood actor will be appearing in the role of Dark Knight but only as a cameo.

Walsh tweeted, "Affleck only filmed on The Flash for like a week, are people really still pushing he is more than an extended cameo?

Affleck stepped down from the role of caped crusader after the release of Justice League in 2017, but he did return to film Zack Snyder's Justice League, which premiered earlier this year on HBO Max.

The Flash is an upcoming superhero film directed by Andy Muschietti and produced by Michael Disco and Barbara Muschietti with a screenplay by Christina Hodson. It is based on the DC Comics named Flash, created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino. The film will be the twelth installment in the continuously expanding DC Extended Universe.

The superhero film is produced by DC Films, The Disco Factory, and Double Dream and will be distributed under the banner of Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film features Ezra Miller in the role of Barry Allen, also known as The Flash, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne also known as Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen Livingston, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field.

The film is a story of a police forensic investigator by the name of Barry Allen who travels back in time using his superpowers to prevent his mother's murder, which causes a lot of trouble for him in his timeline.

The film will be one of its kind as it is the first DC live-action film to feature multiple versions of Batman in the same movie, which includes Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton both playing the role of the Dark Knight.

The Flash was initially meant to release in theatres on March 23, 2018, but later it was shifted to another release date, with this being given to Tomb Raider.

The film, along the years is being pushed continuously to a new release date as it was shifted from March 23, 2018, to July 1, 2022, and then to June 3, 2022. The Flash will now hit the theatres on November 4, 2022.

The film has been in some kind of development since 2004, with multiple writers and directors being hired, which includes Seth Grahame-Smith, Rick Famuyiwa, and the duo of John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, with each of them stepping down from the project due to creative differences till 2014. After which it was finally planned to be redeveloped as a part of the Detective Comics Extended Universe.

The shooting began with Muschietti and Hodson joining the film back in July 2019, and pre-production began in January 2020.

Recently, the Batman actor Ben Affleck was seen with his girlfriend Jennifer Lopez at the 2021 Met Gala and Venice Film Festival. The couple has been dating each other since 2002.
