Marvel Studios Blade star Mahershala Ali says that “it was really cool, getting to do” a voice-over of an all-new character in the post-credit scene of studios newly released superhero epic, starring actors like Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek with the main focus on the immortal god-like beings, The Eternals, who carries the responsibility of protecting the universe from Deviants like creatures, given by higher power beings known as Celestials, who are deeply explored in the blockbuster.

"It was scary. Because, you know, you're talking before you're filming it. I'm pretty particular about my choices, like most actors, and so having to make some choices – even with a line, vocally – this early on, it brought up some very real anxieties. And it made the job real. It's like, ‘Okay, this is happening now’, you know, and that's exciting,” Ali admits while recently speaking to Empire, revealing how was his experience while stepping as the MCU character, who debuted in the Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao’s directed Eternals alongside the other ten new superheroes.

The Luke Cage actor also went to touch upon his upcoming flicker Blade, slated to arrive in theaters on 7th October 2022, based around the various storylines involving the vampire hunter Blade, who appears in the super popular American comic book publication, Marvel Comics. The character made his debut in comics through The Tomb of Dracula #10 released back in 1973 and was created by writers Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan.

“That Marvel world is obviously the biggest in film, and just to get my little introduction to that – starting with the Comic Con a couple years ago, and now the very early stages of stepping into the shoes of that character – it felt special and really cool,” he adds. “I’m excited to get going and do more.”

Ali concluded, teasing the fans saying, though as of now he hasn’t stepped into the character iconic look, he is getting himself ready to try the leather jacket and shades that Blade has been seen in over the years in comic books, television shows, and live-action films, “We're getting there. We're getting close.”

The film was announced in 2019 at the San Diego Comic-Con panel with Mahershala Ali playing the titular role of Eric Brooks also known as Blade. Stacy Osei-Kuffour was confirmed as the scriptwriter working on the much-awaited movie on 5th February 2021, with later on September 1, 2021, Bassam Tariq was revealed as the director, leading the film to help in bringing Blade into the superhero-based franchise Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As far as the plot details of the superhero flicker is concerned there isn’t much to discuss as it has not been made public as of now but Tariq previously did take his time out to share some important and significant details regarding it with fans. "What's exciting about the film that we're making is [there] hasn't been a canon for Blade, as we're reading through the comics and everything," Tariq said. "Him being a daywalker is the one thing that's been established, and you know we can't deny what Wesley Snipes did, which was he basically got this whole ball rolling."

"For me to now be working with somebody as talented and a juggernaut as Mahershala Ali, and the writer Stacy Osei-Kuffour, I'm just so -- I'm so honored to be working with real Black juggernauts and Black talent," he added. "For me to just be with them in this room and listen and learn as I build this out, it's really an honor."
