Brandie Marie Carlile, typically known as Brandi Carlile, is an American singer cum songwriter whose music is the hub of many genres. Her work in varied albums and some movies has gained her several accolades and nominations.

Some of her reputed works include her part in the albums and movies like The Story in 2007, Brandi Carlile in 2005, Give Up The Ghost in 2009, The Firewatcher's Daughter in 2015, By The Way I Forgive You In 2018, A Star Is Born in 2018, Safe Heaven in 2013, Live At Benaroya Hall With The Seattle Symphony in 2011, Bear Creek in 2012, XOBC in 2010 and many others. 

This 40-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer is known to release six studio albums that had earned her eleven Grammy award nominations. , by winning the award for the "Artist Of the Year" at one of the most reputed award functions namely The Americana awards.

The esteemed award show was canceled the previous year because of the pandemic, but finally, as the situation improved it was held in person this year on Wednesday, which was dated 22nd September 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Carlile showed heartfelt gratitude upon receiving the honor of artist of the year and remarked that this award has a weight attached to it because it's profound and hard to be an artist this year (2021).

It is good to see the artists who create a huge impact on our lives with their songs, receive such prestigious rewards for their work and if they stay grounded to their roots then it feels even better! If all artists realize that the accolades they receive are not only an appreciation of their work but also a weight of people's expectation to look forward to more brilliant works by them, the artists will give their best without any proud glimpse on their faces. Many other artists too received several nominations for their esteemed works. Along with Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, Allison Russell, Valerie June, and Amythyst Kiah too led nominations for the American Awards 2021.

The performers of the show included all the aforementioned names along with many other artists namely, Sarah Jarosz, Steve Earle, Margo Price,  and supergroup The Highwomen and Charley Crockett.

This Musical fest featured 200 artists, drawing thousands of fans and followers to the show.

Another known award for the "Album Of The Year" was won by Sturgill Simpson for "Cuttin' Grass-Vol. 1" (Butcher Shoppe Sessions) that was combinedly produced by Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson
