Following the success of "Spiderman: No Way Home," the Marvel Cinematic Universe is gearing up for "Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness," which is set to be released on May 6, 2022. The final post-credit scenes of "Spiderman: No Way Home" gave fans the first look at the highly anticipated sequel to Doctor Strange.

The trailer for the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, "Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness," just dropped, and here’s what the audience feels after watching the trailer, which includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Xochitl Gomez. Sam Raimi directs the sequel.

According to The Verge, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness could be Marvel’s biggest foray into the alternate worlds and timelines that series, including "Loki" and the recently released "Spiderman: No Way Home," explores in their plots. The trailer for the movie starts with Doctor Strange casting a spell that would open the multiverse and Wong asking him, "Don’t cast that spell. It is too dangerous." Strange does it anyway, and then the audience gets to see the disaster caused by him as he practically tampers with reality.

As it was recently seen in "Spider-Man: No Way Home," villains from other universes entered the present world, and that is what "Multiverse of Madness" is going to explore in-depth. Further, in the trailer, the audience will witness evil Doctor Strange Supreme, who says, "the greatest threat to the universe is you." Evil Doctor Strange Supreme was seen in Marvel Universe's What If...? 'when Strange wanted to revive his lover Christine Palmer, played by Rachel McAdams. Doctor Strange was shown messing with reality and opening branches in the sacred timeline in the series "What If..." to bring back his lover, who perished in a car accident.

He strives to obtain more power for his conquest by absorbing creatures from several universes, which makes him powerful but also causes him to lose control of himself. The appearance of evil Doctor Strange Supreme confirms the presence, and it’s going to be interesting to see Strange fighting his evil or dark side.

"Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness" is also going to feature "WandaVision" star Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, post her events as West View. Doctor Strange receives aid from her, and she will be entering the battle in the multiverse. We see her in Scarlet Witch mode too. Baron Mordo, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, who was seen in the first Doctor Strange, will be seen in the sequel too.

The trailer showcases Baron Mordo’s desire to reduce the number of sorcerers messing with magic. The sorcerer’s mentor turned enemy warns Strange by stating, "Your desecration of reality will not go unpunished," before Strange falls through a star-shaped portal. There is not much clarity about Baron’s role in the sequel, but the audience has motives to believe that he might be the antagonist in the movie based on the post-credit scene in the first movie.

Audiences and critics believe that the storyline of "Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness" intersects with Marvel’s "Loki" and there have been rumors that Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki, Owen Wilson who plays Mobius M. Mobius, and Sophia di Martino who plays Sylvie on Loki could make an appearance in the movie that is slated for release in May.

According to reports, "Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness" underwent a lot of reshoots in November in Los Angeles for over six weeks, adding a few more cameos and being a part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Benedict said, "Like everything with Marvel, it comes in fresh, pretty much most mornings. It’s really exciting, and the film is shaping up to be something special." Director Sam Raimi, in a candid interview, shared his thoughts about why he was making Multiverse Madness: "I didn't know that I could face it again because it was so awful, having been the director of Spider-Man 3. The Internet was getting revved up and people disliked that movie, and they sure let me know about it. So, it was difficult to put back on. But then, I found out that there was an opening in Doctor Strange 2. My agent called me and said, "They're looking for a director at Marvel for this movie, and your name came up." Would you be interested? ' And I thought, "I wonder if I could still do it." They're demanding with those types of pictures. And I felt, 'Well, that's reason enough.' I've always really liked the character of Doctor Strange. He was not my favorite, but he was right up there with the favorites. I loved the first movie. I thought [director] Scott Derrickson did a wonderful job, an incredible job. So, I said, "Yeah." They left the character in a great place. I didn't think I would be doing another superhero movie. It just happened. "

The audience is extremely excited to see Doctor Strange on-screen and they believe that it's going to be a dark movie. What do you think?
