BTS will participate in the compulsory Korean Military Service.

According to an announcement made by record label BIGHIT Music, the popular and successful K-Pop band BTS is on its way to fulfilling the South Korean government's mandatory military service requirement.

BIGHIT MUSIC stated in a press release on Monday that it is an ideal time for BTS members to serve in the military for their country. According to the official statement, BTS has risen to global success, broken records, and propelled K-Pop into the worldwide stratosphere since its inception over ten years ago. Big Hit Music has focused on the moment when it is possible to honor the welfare of the nation and for these healthy young men to serve their fellow citizens, and that moment has arrived.

The statement went on to say that group member Jin will commence the process as soon as his solo release schedule is completed at the end of October. He will then obey the Korean government's enlistment procedure. Others in the group intend to carry out their military service following their plans. According to the organization, both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reuniting as a group around 2025, following their service commitment. They also mentioned BTS' moving performance "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" song title, describing it as more than just a track from their latest album, it's a promise. The record label said that BTS has a lot more in store for their fans for the coming years.

Jin, the band's eldest member (29 years old), will be the very first to enlist. According to NBC News, all able-bodied men in South Korea are required to serve 18-21 months in the military, and the band has already been allowed a two-year expansion on their government-mandated service in the military, with top-performing Olympians and musicians occasionally granted exclusions.

Last week, Lee Ki Sik, Commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration, stated that members of BTS should serve in the military. The band members' decision to pursue military service in South Korea follows their Saturday concert with help of South Korea's World Expo bid, which saw BTS perform in front of 12,000 individuals in the city of Busan.

The statement released by the record company said that they support and encourage their artists, and they are more than proud that they will each now have time to pursue their diverse interests and do their duty by serving the country they call home. They added that as a part of HYBE family, they are very proud of the boys adding that release of the anthology album earlier this year had opened various opportunities for them to pursue their interests individually.

The group announced at the annual FESTA dinner in June that members would be pursuing their respective solo projects beyond the routine group work. Some of which have already been released publicly. Notably, J-Hope, achieved a major career milestone when he became the very first South Korean artist to headline Lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago. In July, he released his first studio album, 'Jack in the Box'. J-Hope said that it's been a major challenge for him as an artist.

In his interview with The Rolling Stones, J-Hope on his solo career said that going forward is a very important momentum, and this year, he had to work hard to prepare because it's a very meaningful moment and an important part of his artistry. The singer with the help of a translator said that maybe he will feel a lot of different emotions after the performance and he is confident it will assist him in taking the next step as an artist. Jin revealed himself as the next member to share solo material at their concert this weekend and announced he would be releasing a single soon, according to Billboard. Jin said that he got the chance to work with someone he admires, so a single will be out soon.

The global K-pop superstars visited the White House in the United States earlier this year to make a strong and impactful statement for their community. The seven-member group that includes RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, took the podium on the final day of AAPI Heritage Month to bring up anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian incorporation, and diversification.
