New Years are a great time to feel like your best self, but the clock striking midnight once a year does not magically erase all of your mental health struggles and issues. Just a dar earlier, star Demi Burnett shared her own harrowing experience with her emotions.

Opening up about her mental health struggles and how it is hard for the Bachelor in Paradise star to share her emotional toil with her fans, she said, “This is gunna be the hardest thing to ever post, and I’m so embarrassed but imma be real. My ego is livid.” The celebrity, aged 26, shared a post on Instagram featuring a selfie of the star and paired it with the caption, "Happy New Year this is me 24/7 I’m not doing anything to envy I’m not ‘happy,’ I’m not social. I’m constantly thinking and crying and trying to figure everything out.”

Sharing that she has refrained from drinking for a long time and has also been looking for professional help, the star added, “Countless hours blaming myself for everything that’s caused pain. I haven’t had a sip of alcohol in 5 months. I’m talking to a psychiatrist on Monday. I’m having an emotional breakdown every few hours. I’m feeling pretty s—t/overwhelmed most of the time." Yet the TV personality has found a renewed vigor in the new year and added, "BUT I KNOW I AM GROWING EVEN IF IT HURTS IT IS WORTH IT ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥.”

Of course, well-meaning fans and followers are urging the star to be out and about and that she “needs to get out more,” but it is not the most practical piece of advice for someone who is already hurting.

Addressing the people who text her to go out more, Demi said, "I know u mean well, but it’s not helpful, and it makes me feel ashamed." She added, “This version of me (the one who stays in and avoids people) is who I have suppressed my entire life. I find comfort in exploring my head so much that it’s my preference to be alone. I can only ever truly be myself when I am alone. No more camouflage.”

Another celebrity who seems to have had a tough time transitioning from the past year to 2022 is Hilary Swank. The actress had to leave the memory of her father back in the year and ascended the new year after her father died in October 2021. Talking about her "Dear Dad," who "made his transition to the other side." She said, "This past year was a big one for me, and I know for so many of us." The actress was her father's "sole caretaker" following a major lung transplant surgery about seven years ago.

"I grew incredibly close to him during this time, deepening our relationship and savoring every moment we had together." She continued, "He will always remain one of my most favorite persons and not a day goes by that I don't miss him."

Fortunately, the sad affair helped her on with life as she admitted, "I was awakened to the truest sense of living again. It helped me better understand the circle of life and where we come from and where we go back to."

Wishing to spread positive words for all who read her emotional ordeal, the actress said, "This last year, I hope whatever trials and tribulations you all have had on your life journey bring you closer to your truest essence and help guide you into this New Year."

Another part of the New Year that can be a bit taxing is the resolutions people so eagerly make when the new year is on the brink. Of course, creating resolutions means that people want to better themselves or do something great in life. But if a person is not able to meet their promises to themselves and is particularly hard on themselves for the inability, the expectations can soon lead to a lot of heartaches.

Oprah Winfrey shared that she simply spares herself the emotional guilt and stress she would otherwise inflict on herself if she practices writing down new year resolutions. She said, "I don't do them anymore... For years, I would do these kinds of resolutions like, ‘God, let me know love.’ I remember writing that in 2004. And then what you get hit with is everything that isn’t love to see if love will show up. So I just said, ‘I ain’t asking God for nothing else.’ Don’t ask for courage ’cause you’ll get a whole lot of things that will cause you to have to have courage! So I don’t make them anymore."

Another celebrity who does not have the best experiences when it comes to the new year is Jennifer Lawrence. She shared during The Graham Norton Show that she really is not very much into New Year Eve celebrations and said, “I really hate it.” She added, “I’ve never had a good one—everyone’s chasing a good time, and it’s always a disappointment.”

As things usually do not stay up to her standards, Jennifer has been trying to have low expectations from the new year and the raging parties that come before it. She said, “I plan on doing nothing and then if something lands in my lap,” and left it there as a vague hint for better opportunities. The actress did squeeze in a joke as she said, “I always end up drunk and disappointed,” and added, “Drunk and Disappointed should be the title of my memoir!”
