HBO Max has announced that the third part of the successful movie "Magic Mike" is in the making and is titled "Magic Mike’s Last Dance," starring Channing Tatum as Mike Lane. The movie is going to premiere on HBO Max, unlike the previous two releases which were theatrical releases.

The actor, who was highly appreciated for his portrayal of Mike in movies ‘Magic Mike’, and ‘Magic Mike XXL’, took to his social media to share a sneak peek of the third part’s script without giving any details. He wrote, "Well, world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in."

The Magic Mike franchise is a movie about male strippers and the struggles of small business owners. It was reported that the movie is loosely based on Channing Tatum’s experience as an 18-year-old stripper in Tampa, Fla. The original, 'Magic Mike' that came out in 2012 starred muscular co-stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, and Matthew McConaughey

Channing Tatum wrote to Variety in a statement, "There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of ‘Magic Mike’ with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max. The stripper verse will never be the same. " Warner Bros. Pictures Group said, "Is there anybody on screen more charismatic and appealing than Magic Mike? We’re thrilled to be back in business with Channing, Steven, and their creative team to bring back Magic Mike’s wonderful combination of dance, drama, romance, and humor".

Just like the last two successful movies, Reid Carolin has written the script for "Magic Mike’s Last Dance" as well, and Steven Soderbergh returns as the director of the movie who directed the original or first "Magic Mike," but not "Magic Mike XXL." Gregory Jacobs, who directed the 2015 hit Magic Mike XXL, returns to produce along with Carolin, Nick Wechsler, and Peter Kiernan.

The first two movies garnered a lot of attention and praise, along with grossing about $300 million worldwide. This positive response from the audience led the franchise to initiate a successful stage show, "Magic Mike Live". The show was launched in Las Vegas and was further expanded internationally to London, Berlin, and Australia. The ‘Magic Mike Live’ show announced its first multi-year North American tour on April 6th in Nashville and will continue to Miami.

The live shows have inspired the upcoming HBO Max reality competition series "Finding Magic Mike," which is all set to premiere on December 16th, 2021. The reality show, "Finding Magic Mike" is going to follow 10 men who have "lost their magic". These 10 men will bare their souls and learn to perform dance routines on the show and one of them will be awarded a cash prize and the chance to perform on the "Magic Mike Live" stage in Vegas. Steven Soderbergh shared that watching "Magic Mike Live" in Vegas tempted the director back into what Channing Tatum has dubbed "the stripper verse."

Steven said, "As soon as I saw what Channing, Reid, and the ‘Magic Mike’ choreographic team did with the live show, I said we have to make another movie. Mike Lane’s dream of connecting people through dance must be realized. "

There's no news on whether the rest of the "Magic Mike" cast will return to the "stripper verse," as the news of the third installment was out, they are hoping to see Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, and Donald Glover will all reprise their roles from "Magic Mike XXL." Maybe they'll bring back Matthew McConaughey as Dallas, their old emcee.

Channing Tatum is all set to debut as a director with his upcoming road-trip comedy movie 'Dog'. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Channing is also going to star in an untitled movie inspired by Universal's classic monster which is described as a modern-day, tongue-in-cheek thriller. The movie is going to be produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. In December 2020, Channing Tatum is going to star opposite Sandra Bullock in the romantic action-adventure film, 'The Lost City of D', reported by Variety.
