Chris Hemsworth Thought He Was Written Out Of The MCU After The Release Of Captain America: Civil War

While Captain America: Civil War was a big film, made on a massive scale that once again assembled all the characters of the superhero squad Avengers and set the tone for studios 2018 blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War but one major superhero that was missing from the 2016 film was Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder Thor. A new story from The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a book that tries to uncover several behind-the-screen secrets of the superhero-based franchise Marvel Studio, has revealed that Hemsworth thought that his character Thor was written out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he was not cast in Captain America: Civil War.

"I remember being on the Age of Ultron press tour, and everyone was talking about Civil War," Hemsworth said in the new book The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "I was like, 'What's Civil War?' I asked, 'Are you doing a side-project or something?' They're like, 'Oh no, Captain America, y'know? The next one is Civil War.' I'm like, 'Wait... Iron Man's in that?' And it's like, 'Yeah, but there's not just Iron Man. There's Vision. There's Spider-Man'"

"Wait — what the hell am I doing?'" Hemsworth wondered upon learning about the film. "[Marvel] said, 'You're doing your own thing.'"  "I thought, 'This is it. I'm being written out,'" Hemsworth continued.

Far from written out from the ever-popular Marvel Cinematic Universe, the 38-year-old Australian actor Chris Hemsworth will return to reprise his role of Thor in Marvel Studios' upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder, scheduled to release in the theatres on 8 July 2022.

In addition to the Extraction actor Chris Hemsworth in the role of Thor, the 46-year-old Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi will serve as the director of the film and he will be joined by the film's star-studded cast of Tessa Thompson in the role of Valkyrie, Natalie Portman in the role of Jane Foster also known as Mighty Thor, Christian Bale in the role of Gorr the God Butcher, Chris Pratt in the role of Peter Quill also known as Star-Lord, Jaimie Alexander in the role of Sif, Pom Klementieff in the role of Mantis, Dave Bautista in the role of Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan in the role of Nebula, Sean Gunn in the role of Kraglin Obfonteri, Jeff Goldblum in the role of Grandmaster, Vin Diesel in the role of Groot and additional actors Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Russell Crowe also has a cameo appearance. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson works on the much-awaited film as a writer.

Marvel Studios is responsible for the production of Thor: Love and Thunder with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. as the distributor. Thor: Love And Thunder take its inspiration from Jason Aaron's iconic storyline Mighty Thor, which mainly focuses on Natalie Portman's superhero character Jane Foster, a female counterpart to the mighty God of Thunder Thor, who takes on the mantle of Thor while suffering from cancer.
