The 42-year-old Marvel superstar Chris Pratt, who recently joined the cast of the live-action adaptation of the legendary video game Super Mario, which was developed under the brand name of Japanese video game company Nintendo has surprised his fans by sharing a special video clip on Instagram in which the fans get to see Pratt superimposed as Super Mario, in Guardians of the Galaxy's final scene where his superhero character Star-Lord takes the Power Stone with various effects of the games popping up. He posted the video with the caption "Amazing first look at Super Mario Brothers. This is going to be epic,"

Last month, Pratt also took to social media platform Instagram to share a video revealing his casting in the much-anticipated film.

"There was this coin-operated laundromat near my house, and it had Super Mario Bros., the original arcade game. I loved that game," Pratt says in the video published to Instagram. Because he "never had a quarter, it felt like," Pratt would steal quarters out of a wishing fountain.

He added, "The quarter I stole out of the wishing well to play Super Mario Bros. has come true that I get to be the voice of Mario, but I clearly stole someone else's wish. So just waiting for that row of karma dominoes to come crashing down on me, but as it is right now, it's-a me, Mario."

He continued, "We've been working hard at it," continued Pratt of Illumination and Nintendo, "and I'm really excited to announce that I'm going to be the voice of that video game that I dreamed about playing as a kid. Dreams come true."

Mario's first-ever feature-length animated film's plot details have not been revealed but what little is known is that it will feature Chris Pratt in the role of Mario alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in the role of Peach, Charlie Day in the role of Luigi, Jack Black in the role of Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key in the role of Toad, Seth Rogen in the role of Donkey Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson in the role of Kamek, and Fred Armisen in the role of Cranky Kong; Charles Martinet. The film will be directed by animator and director Aaron Horvath. As announced The film will be released on December 21, 2022.

The film has been in some kind of development for years, in January last year, Nintendo announced the film's co-producers Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri.

Pratt is next set to return to reprise his role of Star-Lord in James Gunn superhero blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 alongside Zoe Saldana in the role of Gamora, Pom Klementieff in the role of Mantis, Vin Diesel in the role of Groot, Bradley Cooper in the role of Rocket, Karen Gillan in the role of Nebula, Elizabeth Debicki in the role of Ayesha and Aean Gunn in the role of Kraglin Obfonteri.

The film is produced by President Kevin Feige and is distributed under Walt Disney Motion Pictures. With the film's story continuing after the event its predecessor Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, it is set to debut in theatres around the world on 5th May, 2022, after a long delay due to theatres shutting down because of the impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic around the world.
