Chrissy Teigen dressed like a desi girl, and the chic totally pulled off the look! The model and her husband were recently invited to the Diwali bash of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, and the couple totally looked the part!

Chrissy Teigen celebrated the festival of lights in the desi fashion this year. The author donned an embellished purple sari, worn to perfectly complement her style. The beautiful sari comes from the Indian fashion brand Papa Don't Preach and featured a matching blouse that carried off the look quite well. The couple appeared together at the November 4 Diwali party of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and were joined by many others. 

The vibrant, sparkling sari looked glamorous with its gold and pink embroidery detailing that ran through the length of the sari in ornate stitches. While the cookbook author stunned in her Indian attire, her husband singer John Legend in an attire that almost resembled a traditional sherwani worn by Indian men during special occasions and festivals. The fully black outfit featured an embroidered coat, pairing well with his wife's charming wear for the night. 

The author and model shared her beautiful look for the night on her Instagram handle, where she proudly showed off her ensemble along with her husband. She shared a casserole of her festive pictures and captioned the post: "what a beautiful holiday! Happy Diwali!!!"

Keeping up with the theme of Indian festive attire, Chrissy Teigen went on to wear a second beautiful sari for the festivities of the evening. The second ensemble featured a pink, gold, purple, and blue-hued sari to complement the night of lights. The second sari also was from the same Indian fashion brand, Papa Don't Preach. 

The model took to share another beautiful moment of the night with her fans on Instagram. The cookbook author shared a boomerang that featured her and her husband. She used the post to thank her hosts Priyanka Chopra, aged 39, and her husband Nick Jonas, aged 29. She captioned the boomerang video, "Happy Diwali to all who celebrate!!" She extended her gratitude for the hosts as she wrote: "Thank you for having us @priyankachopra and @nickjonas!! We love you both!"

The two attended the festivities together at the Jonas residence where they celebrated the festival at their Los Angeles home. The 'Baywatch' actress also shared a collection of beautiful pictures from her festive night. The actress shared the pictures along with the caption, "Our first diwali in our first home together. This one will always be special."

The November 5 post also included a heartfelt message, where she thanked her crew for their help to make the day special. She wrote: "Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this evening so special. You're my angels. To everyone who honoured our home and my culture by not only dressing the part but dancing the night away, you made me feel like I was back home."

Then she went to share a beautiful message for her husband, Nick Jonas, "And to the best husband and partner @nickjonas, You are what dreams are made of. I love you. My heart is so grateful and full."

The American singer also shared his own thoughts about the night and a lovely post for his wife on his own Instagram. The Instagram video was captioned, "Sending you all love and light." "My beautiful wife has introduced me to so many wonderful Indian holidays and traditions. My heart is so full to be able to share this with our friends and family."

So, while the Indian actress is not in India at the moment, her family abroad made sure that she gets to experience the thrill of the occasion in its most authentic self. The actress, hence, celebrated the festival with her loved ones in California, where she hosted a big party. The bash was attended by the EGOT winner John Legend, his wife Chrissy Teigen, Nick Jonas's brother Joe Jonas and several other family members and friends of the Jonases. 

Nick Jonas first shared a few glimpses into the dazzling occasion with his beautiful Instagram post that showcased how adoringly he cherishes his family and friends. The 'Burnin’' Up' singer showed up to the event dressed up in traditional Indian Wear featuring a long shirt called kurta and matching trousers called salwar. 

While the host couple definitely received a ton of appreciation for the attire they donned on the Festival of Lights, it was Chrissy Teigen and John Legend who garnered the most compliments. The couple's posts were soon filled with celebs and fans alike, telling just how dashing they looked in their Indian wear.

Mindy Kaling, who was also invited to Priyanka's Diwali bash, jokingly commented that she will not tolerate the cultural appropriation by the two. She commented, "You're done! I don't care if you both look hot! This cultural appropriation will not not be tolerated!"

The Jonas couple also had held a traditional Diwali pooja at their new home a day earlier regarding the five-day celebration of the festivities. The pooja, a traditional ritual, was performed to bless the couple's home with "grace and abundance." During the religious ceremony, Priyanka Chopra wore an ethereal yellow sari, and her husband dressed in a plain white kurta set.

Later, the 'The Sky Is Pink' actress was joined by actress and director Mindy Kaling and also Deepica Mutyala, and Youtuber Lily Singh. The friends united at the Diwali eve dinner hosted by director Kaling and also in attendance were Meena Harris, Liza Koshy, Poorna Jagannathan, Radhika Jones, Anjula Acharia, and more. The "Quantico' actress wore a floral tiered print lehenga skirt with a floral blouse embossed with mirrors by Arpita Mehta. 

The actress has just returned home after shooting Citadel in London for the better part of a year and also "Text For You.' Her further projects include the Bollywood flick 'Jee Le Zara' to be directed by Farhan Akhtar that will also star Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.

The annually-occurring holiday arrives on the day of the new moon as per the lunar calendar. The festival is remarked and celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists. The festival usually falls in the month of October or November.
