Singer Christina Aguilera has shared her honest views on how she will always be here for a friend and former co-star Britney Spears.

During a recent interview with radio host Enrique Santos, Christina Aguilera was asked if she had spoken to the pop icon Britney Spears since her conservatorship ended, to which Christina said, "I would love to [speak with Britney]. I would always be open to that. It’s a subject that I want to be careful of because I never want to speak out of turn about somebody that I have so much respect and admiration for." She also mentioned that she wanted to be careful in discussing the situation.

The singer who was promoting her new all-Spanish EP La Fuerza said during the interview that she is extremely happy that Britney Spears’ conservatorship has been terminated and she is a free woman. She said, "I will just say what I do feel comfortable saying, as I’ve said before actually, and stated, that I couldn’t be happier for her. Every woman deserves to feel empowered and to own that for themselves however they see fit."

Christina and Britney rose to fame almost at the same time and when they were in their teens and talking about how things have changed now and how they have evolved, the singer said, "Growing up in this business can be freakin' crazy, so if anybody gets that and understands what that means at that time coming up, it definitely would be her and I.” She also mentioned that she would love to speak to her and let her know that she is always going to be here for her and quoted, "I love, you know, being able to connect like that with other women… It’s very important now more than ever, now that we do have the ability to connect, that that happens and that we always feel unified."

This is not the first time; Christina is backing up her friend as in last summer following the court hearing where Britney Spears demanded the judge to let her speak about then-in-place conservatorship, Christina wrote in a statement "These past few days I've been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through. It is unacceptable that any woman or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish." She also applauded the Toxic singer for standing up against the strict legal arrangement and demanding her freedom and described how Britney must have felt silenced, ignored, bullied, and denied support as, "the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable." Christina continued, "The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly. Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness."

But two months ago, Britney Spears had called out on her former co-star Christina Aguilera for not being vocal enough against the abuse she had to suffer over the past 13 years after watching an interview where Christina Aguilera was asked a question about Britney’s termination of conservatorship at the red carpet of Latin Grammys. Christina only said that she was happy for her before she was pulled away from the interview. In return for this act, Britney said, “Refusing to speak when you know the truth is equivalent to a lie.”  A lot of fans also pointed out that Christina should have stood up for her friend and former co-star and make things right.

Britney Spears is yet to comment on recent comments made by Christina Aguilera and we're hoping that there might not be any bad blood between the two singers who started their careers together. Britney Spears is currently going back and forth with her sister Jamie Lynn Spears.
