NE-YO’s wife has filed for divorce.

NE-YO’s wife, Crystal Renay, who recently took to her social media to accuse the singer of being unfaithful to her for the past eight years, has officially filed for divorce on August 1st in Fulton County, Georgia.

According to TMZ, Crystal Renay filed for divorce, claiming that their marriage is irreparably broken and there is no hope of reconciliation. The former couple share three kids, Isabella Rose, Roman Alexander Raj, and Shaffer Chimere Jr., and Crystal Renay has reportedly asked for primary custody with joint legal custody along with requesting both child support and alimony.

NE-YO and Crystal Renay started dating in 2015 and were married in 2016. In April, the two of them renewed their vows in a lavish Las Vegas celebration, but the decision to split does not surprise their loved ones. The decision does not surprise the fans because two years ago, NE-YO announced that the former couple was separating during a podcast interview.

2020 February, NE-YO said that the fact that his wife and he have chosen to obtain a divorce is slowly getting out there and mentioned that he won't ever disparage her, so it's not a sad thing; it's more of a realization on their part. NE-YO said that that's not who he is, adding that she is a wonderful woman and he will always respect her since she is the mother of his children. However, Ne-Yo filed for divorce in 2020, two years after the birth of their second kid, even though they were able to work out their problems and reunite that same year. On New Year's Eve of 2021, the singer proposed to Crystal once more.

Crystal at the time said during an appearance on “Tamron Hall” show that the former couple wasn’t talking at that time and she chose to leave the relationship because of issues, and at the time she felt like it was too get back at her or to hurt her, or whatever the case may be. She added that the singer said that it wasn’t going to hurt her so she took his word for that. But it didn’t feel good, it was embarrassing, to say the least. Crystal shared that she chose to go to therapy and to start working on her pain and her issues and everything that she was dealing with internally and she felt like that was the right step for her to get past it, so whether they were going to be together or not, she had to heal for me so that she could get up and perform for the kids.

Ne-Yo talked about how the coronavirus pandemic ultimately made the couple's relationship stronger in a 2021 interview with ESSENCE. He said to the publication at the time that the quarantine forced them to confront the struggle of their marriage head-on and what it did was strengthen them because now, he doesn't have to pull punches while talking. NE-YO added that he precisely knows where they stand, and because of that, they decided to continue, and what they are going to do now seems more sincere before adding that of course, learning is still a process.

In a recent social media article, Crystal Renay said that she would no longer mislead the public or pretend that their relationship was still going strong. She also stated that she was prioritizing her happiness, health, and self-respect over all else. Crystal noted that she only acquired three lovely children as a result of this, but that she also suffered grief and lost years. In her article, Renay stated that to say she is hurt and disgusted is an understatement. She also stated that it is absurd to want her to remain and tolerate it. The narcissist's way of thinking.

NE-YO also posted a message on social media, saying that he and his family will resolve their issues in private for the benefit of the kids. NE-YO only urged the fans to respect their privacy at this time, stating that private problems shouldn't be discussed in open forums.
