Daniel Craig to be honored with 'Hollywood Walk of Fame Star'

Daniel Craig, an English actor who rose to fame when he was roped in to play the character of ‘James Bond’ in ‘Casino Royale’ in 2007 and in 2021, the actor bids aideu to the character with his last installment as James Bond in “No Time To Die’. 

Along with a successful career as an actor, Daniel has managed to received great remarks from critics and fans and now the actor, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ahead of the release of "No Time To Die" in the United States on October 6, 2021. 

Daniel's star will be the 2,704th on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, following David Niven, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan as the fourth James Bond actor to acquire such a prestigious honor. Intriguingly, Barry Nelson, who played James Bond in a television movie, was also awarded a star during his career.

Daniel's star will be located at 7007 Hollywood Boulevard, which is a tribute to the actor's renowned code name, and will be located adjacent to Sir Roger Moore's star. Nicole Mihalka, Chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will emcee the Walk of Fame event.

The announcement of the honor was made by Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She said, “Daniel Craig is a British cultural icon as is James Bond, the man he has portrayed in five 007 films. We are thrilled to place his terrazzo Walk Of Fame star next to the star of another famed actor who also portrayed James Bond, Roger Moore. Fans will be thrilled when they see that their stars are appropriately located at 7007 Hollywood Boulevard!”

Daniel Craig's fifth and final film as James Bond, "No Time To Die," stars Rami Malek as the nemesis, Lyutsifer Safin, who will speak during the actor's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the Bond franchise, will speak at the ceremony in honor of the actor.

Daniel Craig, who has played James Bond, a sophisticated spy 007 in the films "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace," "Skyfall," and "Spectre," has a massive reputation as one of the best James Bonds in history. Daniel Craig's remarkable acting skills as James Bond wowed the public. Daniel’s chiseled appearance and intimidating demeanor are just an added advantage. 

During a podcast interview, Daniel shared how he accepted the role of James Bond, he stated that he only accepted the role after he was ensured that he could do something different from what had come before with Bond actors. "The deal was, I said to Barbara and Michael before I read the script – it's so arrogant, it's ridiculous – I just said I can't do an impression of something that's come before. I can't recreate what you've done before. Brilliant though that is, I can't do it. I can't come in and try and be something that people expect. I can come in and try and reinvent it because that to me is fascinating and interesting,” Craig said.

To which he shared that the producers had the same thought process, and they told him that, that is exactly what they wanted him to do. And we have five amazing movies where Daniel Craig portrayed James Bond. Daniel has also mentioned in one of the interviews that he’s very proud of the movie. “We don’t make it for ourselves, we make it for people to see in the cinema, and we’re going to watch it on a huge screen this evening, which is exactly where Bond movies should be.”

As soon as the release date for ‘No Time To Die was announced, speculation about a new James Bond began, and there were many who wanted to see a woman play Bond. To which when asked to Daniel, he mentioned, “The answer to that is very simple,” he said. “There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?”

Lashana Lynch, who was rumored to be taking over the 007 roles, plays Nomi, the first black female 00 agent in the film, and Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was involved in the scriptwriting process for Daniel Craig's final installment in the Bond franchise. The man himself described Phoebe Waller Bridge who impressed everyone with her exceptional acting in Fleabag as a “wonderful fit” for the James Bond part.

The actor said that Phoebe has got a devilish humor, and her influence permeates a lot in the movie. The actress walks on the brilliant line of keeping it as a thriller and funny. Daniel mentioned that even though she could be a perfect fit she did not come to change Bond, but only to spice it up. “She wasn’t about to take him in a different direction, “ he added. Daniel Craig recently made headlines when he walked the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in London in a pink velvet dinner jacket for the film's world premiere. He appeared relieved that the film was finally making its way to theatres for the enjoyment of the public. Kate Middleton and Prince William, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Billie Eilish, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge all made appearances at the lavish event.
