The managing director of music label T-Series, Bhushan Kumar, was accused of a rape case last week by her colleagues. The girl charged Bhushan with luring her by the offer of work and taking sexual favours from her. The case shocked many people, and Bhushan also faced backlash on social media after reports of this allegation broke on the Internet.

This simple looking case has taken a sharp turn, and the name of Mallikarjuna Pujari has come inside the picture. According to Bhushan, Mallikarjuna, a local leader from Thane, threatened him to extort money from him. Mallikarjuna allegedly blackmailed Bhushan to pay extortion, or he would face fake rape allegations from one of his colleagues. Bhushan has also filed a complaint against this blackmail against Pujari on July 1.

Confirming the news police officer investigating the case said, “An FIR of extortion was registered against Mallikarjun Pujari, who had allegedly approached Krishan Kumar between July 3 and 10 this year, demanding money to not file a complaint of rape against Bhushan Kumar". Along with the Pujari and the girl, an FIR has also been filed against the girl's friend who allegedly threatened Bhushan to kill him after he lodged the case against the blackmail.  The case in Amboli Police station has been lodged under sections 386, 500, 506 and 506(2) of the IPC.

It would now be interesting to see which side of the story is the truth. It should be noted that Bhushan was also accused under the #MeToo movement.
