Nayte Olukoya explains his side of the story.

The Bachelorette couple Nayte Olukoya and Michelle Young recently announced their breakup on social media via sharing their heartbreaking statements and ended their engagement in less than a year.

On Saturday, Nayte Olukoya took to his social media to share a 15-point message and denied the accusations and speculation that he had cheated on his ex-fiancée Michelle Young, saying that he did not cheat and that people should know that not every breakup needs to have someone to blame.

Nayte Olukoya said that the pressure on him and Michelle Young was immense but they tried to make their relationship work, which eventually did not work out and they are extremely heartbroken over it. The Bachelorette alum added that people grieve differently. During the question and answer chat on Instagram, Nayte Olukoya pointed out that he does not understand why some people have labeled him as a villain and said that many of them see him as a red flag or a fuck boy, and mentioned that it could be because of the piercings or the tattoos, but in reality, he is actually a decent guy and only wants to continue getting better.

Nayte Olukoya and Michelle Young got engaged in December at the season finale of The Bachelorette season 18 but decided to end their relationship earlier this month. Nayte further clarified via his story and 15-pointers that he likes to hang out with his guys and Michelle likes to hang out with her girls, and it’s okay for people to do that. Nayte added that it’s super healthy to meet people and not everyone who goes to bars is a cheater. He added that he is friends with a lot of people from Michelle’s season and it’s not weird for her or him, and stated that they are both grown-up adults, not children.

Nayte continued and said that he went on the show with no expectations but an open mind and open heart and added a shoutout to ex-fiancee Michelle Young, stating that she helped him open up a little more and he was able to find his person and said thank God he went on the show. Nayte Olukoya said in his story that he truly believed that Michelle Young was his person and mentioned that although he was inexperienced in love, that does not mean that he was or is a red flag.

According to the post's continuation, Nayte revealed that the pair finally intended to relocate to Minnesota earlier this year, but the plan was adjusted because they thought there was no need to rush things and wanted more time to get to know one other on a deeper level before making the jump to live together. Nayte added that there is no set timeframe or rulebook for how to go about one's relationship and that they did not want to hurry into anything.The Bachelor Nation alum said that they believed that since the love they had for each other was real, things would eventually fall back into place naturally in their own time and the way they were meant to be.

Nayte Olukoya concluded the post by stating that he will never live his life based on what others think about him and thanked everyone for the kind messages and for supporting him and Michelle. The couple, who had mentioned in previous interviews that they are each other’s people, had said that what they have is real and it was not for the show. In their breakup statement as well, both of them expressed that they are very sad and heartbroken about the fact that the relationship did not work out, but they will be supporting each other in the future as well.

Michelle, in her statement, added that she will always acknowledge and appreciate the adventures, support, and growth she and Nayte experienced during their time together but needs time to heal and work it through.

Nayte Olukoya, in his statement at the time, stated that they genuinely fell in love and genuinely became each other’s best friends, and they will keep cheering each other on, but from now on it will be from a distance. Nayte and Michelle went on to thank everyone who supported them and appreciated them, and they reminded the audience that their emotions are real, their heartbreak is real, and they are real, and they are two human beings going through a difficult time and asking for some privacy.

Tayshia Adams, who is a friend of Michelle Young, shared recently on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she was surprised when the couple announced their breakup because she knew how much Michelle Young had poured her heart and soul into the process and the journey of it all and she wanted to get married. She added that it breaks her heart to see her friend sad.
