Can you imagine Backstreet Boys without Nick Carter? Yep, we can't either.

Backstreet Boys singer, Nick Carter, reunited with fellow bandmate AJ McLean at the 90s Con during the weekend in Hartford, Connecticut, and recalled the time they started as bandmates.

AJ McLean shared with the fans that he met Nick Carter in 1992 through the auditions for Disney and Nickelodeon and when he was trying to build the band alongside Howie Dorough. Nick Carter recalled that he was offered a chance to join the Mickey Mouse Club, which he turned down. Nick went on to say that he was supposed to be on the same team as Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling, but he was also allowed to audition for Backstreet Boys, where AJ McLean was.

Nick Carter mentioned that he had to choose between a $50,000 contract from the Mickey Mouse Club and the Backstreet Boys, who were just starting and had nothing going for them, so he chose the Backstreet Boys. If Nick Carter had chosen the Mickey Mouse Club, he would have probably been a part of NSYNC. Who knows? Justin Timberlake was a famous Mickey Mouse Club cast member who went on to be a member of the popular boyband NSYNC in the 1990s.

Backstreet Boys and NYSNC were two of the most successful boy bands in the 90s, and the fans quickly picked aside. Although AJ McLean clarified that there was never beef between the two bands, Both the bands were doing their things, and no one brought the two bands together. In 2019, Nick Carter spoke to Billboard and explained that none of the bandmates ever imagined "I Want It That Way" would be so successful and memorable. He also added that he’ll forever be grateful for being a part of the Backstreet Boys. Their first album was released in 1996 and soon their popularity grew and the same year Backstreet Boys were voted number one international group by the fans.

On March 12th, Nick Carter spoke with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos at the 90s Con and shared that the experience was so much fun. He added that it is one of the first 90s con projects that has ever been done, and one cannot imagine or realize how much has happened since the 90s. Nick added that it just reminds one how much the actors, singers, and things that everyone loved have grown up, and it has been fun for him and everyone who was there to have some nostalgia.
