The couple had split up around two months ago after a long time being together. They had together adopted a dog in their relationship timeline. Now that they were spotted together walking their dog, are they finally back together?
Tarzan, their cute awe-worthy golden retriever was brought home by the couple as a little puppy. Recently, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were seen together on January 6 this year, and the two looked exceptionally happy besides each other.
The "Havannah" singer wore a light beige sundress for the reunion, and her former boo, Shawn, was seen wearing a white t-shirt over light blue jeans. Well, there is no official news of the two actually getting back together romantically, or they are simply together for the sake of their little fur buddy. Even if not, the mature duo knows quite well to co-parent their doggo and still looked pretty good in the company of each other.
Last year, fans were quite shocked when the couple announced that they will be splitting from each other and issued a joint statement making their break up public. In their similar November 17 Instagram story posts, the singers said that despite their “love for one another,” they had chosen to part mutually.
The statement read, “We’ve decided to end our romantic relationship, but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.” “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward,” continued the story caption.
Apparently, Shawn had first talked about breaking up, and the agreed-on mutually letting go without much of a fuss. A source revealed to E! News that Shawn "initiated the conversation," and the Cindrella star agreed that it was for the best. The breakup was not a "bad breakup at all," and the two left with mutual respect. An insider later shared, "The relationship was getting stale and complacent. And they decided they are better off being friends."
Prior to their breakup, the couple had dated for around three years and were friends even before then. The two then appeared together in “Señorita,” and fans quickly started wondering if the two were together. Not a long time later, the two revealed that they were actually together and their emotions were genuine. As some wondered if it was a publicity stunt to promote their music, Shawn Mendes cleared all rumors stating that it was “definitely not a publicity stunt.”
Talking with Radio.com in 2020, the singer added, “I thought that I was a pretty open, emotional, guy until I started being in a relationship with someone that I really, truly love and, realizing that ‘oh no, I really have this big ego, and I don’t want to show her that I’m hurting and I don’t want to show her that that offended me, and like I want to be the man, and I want to be strong in this relationship.’”
So, now it looks like the star has put his ego aside and reconciled with Camila for their lovely canine. After their stroll together, the 'Mercy' singer was again spotted on the beach in Miami, without a shirt or his former partner. As they two had brought home Tarzan together, Shawn was reported to be very sad following the split because the dog was taken away by Camila. On the other hand, Camila was seen posting cute photos and videos with her dog and appreciating the puppy's love for making her feel good after her breakup.
When the duo had first got Tarzan, the singer had written the caption on an Instagram post: "During uncertain times like this, we need a reminder that sweet miracle things like puppies exist in the world too." "Meet the new member of the pack: Tarzan! Sending to love all of you guys and remember: regardless of the outcome, WE are the ones responsible for building the world we want to live in. the fight for BEING the society we want to see. That continues after this outcome is decided. This is what I’m telling myself to soothe myself right now because it’s the only thing we actually can control," continued Camila.
She added, "Love you guys, and Tarzan sends a big puppy lick." The couple continued to bond over their shared love for their doggo, and in April 2021, they let Tarzan have his very own Instagram account.
Following their breakup in November, a source revealed to Hollywood life that Shawn Mendes was missing his dog. They said, “Shawn is trying to move on with his life, and he is getting ready to drop a single and go on tour. Although he is in a good place in his head over the breakup with Camila, there is one aspect of it that he is not okay with, which is being separated from his dog, Tarzan!"
