Marvel Studios Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch has urged the United States to shut down its military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The Hollywood actor, while appearing for the Toronto Film Festival said, "If we’re fighting fire with fire if we’re trying to find justice for the gross injustice of a mass act of terrorism, we have to show the world that we’re better than the thing that’s trying to terrorize us,”

Cumberbatch's comment on the US military prison comes in the immediate wake of the 20th anniversary of the horrific and devastating September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Currently, the superstar is in Toronto to see two of his latest films Jane Campion's 'The Power of the Dog' and Will Sharpe's 'The Electrical Life of Louis Wain'. The actor will also receive the TIFF Tribute Actor Award during its 46th edition.

The 45-year-old actor will feature in the much anticipated upcoming Marvel Studios film Spiderman: No Way Home playing the important role of comic book character Doctor Strange together with Spiderman also known as Peter Parker with both of them facing various kinds of challenges and supervillains. The film is a sequel to 2019's Spiderman: Far From Home. The film is scheduled to release in cinema theatres on December 17, 2021. The film will feature Benedict Cumberbatch alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jon Favreau, and Jacob Batalon.

Marvel Studios Doctor Strange sequel is directed by famous American director Sam Raimi. The much-awaited superhero blockbuster film features Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Xochitl Gomez. The movie will be released in theaters on March 25, 2022.
