Ed Sheeran talks about his return to social media.

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran took to his social media to share a new candid video for his fans and give an update about why he was away from social media after he decided to take a two-month break. He shared that he has realized that he has not been that engaging in his social media and with his fan base for the past couple of years, adding that his recent posts have been a bit boring.

Ed went on to say that he was away from social media and not engaging on social media because he was going through some difficult times in his personal life, and he didn't feel like being online and pretending to be someone he wasn't when he wasn't.

The singer admitted that he knows that he might sound weird, but now that things have started to look up, he is back online without giving much explanation on what turbulent things were going on with him, but he assured fans that all is well now, adding that weird shit is going to be posted.

In May 2022, the singer and his wife Cherry Seaborn revealed the birth of their second daughter by sharing a photo of a pair of white baby socks on top of a brown blanket. He captioned the photo that read that he would want the fans to know that they have welcomed another beautiful baby girl. Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, their first child, was born in 2020.

Ed Sheeran has spoken out about how about to become a father has altered his outlook on life in general, but especially on his professional life, as he thought about leaving music after the birth of his first daughter. During a discussion with SiriusXM in 2021, Ed Sheeran stated that music is completely him as a person, and then he welcomed his daughter, noting that, well, his wife had their daughter, but he is a parent. And after that, he was like maybe that was it, that was enough for him, and he'd just continue to be a dad implying that he wasn't going to be playing music anymore.

The singer also stated that he felt purposeless for a long time, adding that an artist's achievement should not be assessed in album sales or ticket sales since, in his opinion, noting that most of his accomplishment has been evaluated by the reliability of the songs he has authored, but there is an assumption from everyone around him.

Ed went on to say that the pressure can be overwhelming and explained that there are individuals in his family who are like that, and that his forthcoming album must be even bigger compared to the previous one. Although Ed Sheeran mentioned that he knows that his family members are trying to say it to be supportive, perhaps it shouldn't be; perhaps it should simply be an album, and perhaps a career can go in a wave motion rather than a straight line but always up.

But Ed Sheeran did not abandon music; instead, he did decide to channel his creative thinking for the sake of his daughter. The singer clarified that he had a sudden realization that it is more essential for his daughter to grow up knowing that her parents have a strong commitment to work and that her parents support working hard, creating, and able to enjoy their jobs than, say, viewing her father as technically unemployed.

This spring, Ed Sheeran, whose tour broke the world record as the highest-grossing tour of all time, will return to North America for the first time in nearly 5 years. Ed Sheeran revealed in November 2022 that his sixth album would be released in 2023. The Mathematics Tour, which began in Dublin, Ireland in April 2022 and concluded in September 2022, will run from May to September 2023, with Ed Sheeran performing at stadiums across the United States and Canada.

Artists including Rosa Linn, Khalid, Cat Burns, Russ, Maisie Peters will be joining Ed Sheeran's North American leg of the tour as the opening acts.
