'You,' the nerve-chilling series that baffled viewers in its first two seasons, now ended with a bang, yet again, in the third season, leaving fans everywhere shell shocked.

Read one for everything about the season's finale, what to expect from the upcoming season, and to understand more about its twists and turns. Beware of the spoilers!

The series follows the dysfunctional relationship of Joe and Love. The two had married earlier, and considering their psychopathic behaviors, it was only a matter of time for one or the other to show chameleonic colors. The two can't just trust each other, and their only moments of intimacy are when they are deep in some sick-twisted act.

But Joe gets bored of his familial life and starts fixating on their neighbor. Love being Love takes care of the issue, and the neighbor is gone. But Joe shifts his obsession to Marienne, a local librarian he met in a library nearby and then his boss. Love, who just bore a child with Joe, learns of Joe's new interest with Marienne and, in an attempt to 'salvage' her marital life, resorts to poisoning Joe with aconite that paralyzes him.

Love calls Marienne over, who was already wooed over by Joe, with promises of separating from his wife soon. Love wishes to kill Marienne only to realize the real problem is Joe. Instead of killing Marianne with the fork as she had planned, she lets her go and instead turns her attention to bound-up and paralyzed Joe.

Of course, Joe is a step ahead. When Love warns Marianne about him, Joe kills Love with the same poison she used on him. As she had come near him to kill him, Joe, who wasn't paralyzed with the small aconite dose, injects her with a fatal dose of the same deadly plant from Love's garden. And then he went on to fake his death. He cut two of his toes and left them in the oven for pie so that no one questions his death. Then he burns down the suburban home that he shared with Love by leaving the gas on and setting it to flame.

Both Joe and Love were on top of their sinister actions in Season 3, with both committing murders as they killed Ryan and Theo and partook in many other horrendous acts. Yet Joe writes a suicide note, pinning all his actions on Love and himself heads to Paris. He leaves Madre Linda in his stead and hopes he will one day again meet Marianne. Season 3 is chock-full of scream-worthy twists. Here is a deeper look into what all of it could mean and what it is to transpire from the next season.

Love is dead

By the middle of season three, Joe just can't help but stalk another amiable lady. Of course, it had to be a librarian because he loves books so much. And, then considering that Love is as inclined towards killing people as Joe is, either Marienne would have been killed by Love just as Joe began with his obsession, or it had to be Love herself. Considering Joe's past, it was so much easier for him to kill a woman he claimed to love than give up on an obsession when he was already married and had become a father.

Yet, after two seasons in the show, fans were obviously attached to Love, and yet the producers had always planned only a short ride for her in the series. Talking with Hollywood Life, if Love could have been allowed to live on, show producer Sera Gamble said, "This 2-season arc was always the plan, but I'm not going to lie when you're working with an actor like Victoria Pedretti, of course, you have that conversation." Nevertheless, the show was done with Love, and that is that.

Joe moves to Paris

Joe is now once again free to enjoy the single life, having been freed from his previous relationship, if that is how you put the murder. The couple had always been very keen on violence which kept them going in their marriage. Having done an excellent job to hide his trail and gone to great lengths to convince the authorities of his death, Joe goes to Paris. The evidence he leaves behind ties Love to the death of their neighbor, and he is free to do as he wishes.

Will there be more of Marianne?

Joe, of course, isn't over, Marianne. Love had told her to run, and Marianne definitely moved the place with her daughter in tow, but Joe hopes to meet her again one day. Even though the fourth season is to be held in Paris, there isn't much space for Marianne to resurface. Yet, Joe could find his way back to her despite her learning the truth about him. The show creator, Sera Gamble, followed a similar thought and said, "I mean, when I watch it, I think it's pretty clear that she gets the message from Love that maybe she was mistaken about this gentleman, but Joe's not done thinking about her. So there's always the chance, right?"

Yes, there is no changing that Love is now dead and burnt, yet she got what she wanted by chasing away two women that Joe had his eyes on. First, she kills the neighbor woman, keeping her from Joe, and also warns Marianne reasonably that the librarian ends up running away from the charming man she thought Joe was. In fact, she even got to save Marianne's daughter, and her own son is safe with Joe's co-workers, just as she would have wanted. In a way, she ends up getting what she had desired before dying.

Sera Gamble herself thinks that Love got the last word in the season finale and says, "She makes a lot of moves there at the end that are very protective of Marienne, Marienne's daughter, and of her baby. So it's not as simple as just they're swiping at each other with kitchen knives," because they are mothers and their children come first.

The twisted finale

Who could have ever imagined that a sweet, romantic song would be the unwinding that this horrific series needed? However, Taylor Swift's song 'Exile' was a perfect fit in the last shots of the finale episode and did justice to Love's and Joe's highly toxic relationship. They had both connected on terms very intimate to them, and they both went swinging, one ending up dead and the other exiling his country. Talking about how the song came to be a part of the show, Sera said, "It creates a nice tension when you're watching people do things like burn a body, so it's just such a romantic song. It's so sincere in what it's saying. So that felt like the right tone for the tragic end of the beautiful relationship of Joe and Love."

Gamble also said that Joe's mother could make an appearance in the newer seasons, and it would fit in fairly well.
