Anna Faris opens up about her feelings post her divorce. 

Actress Anna Faris appeared on an episode of Chelsea Handler’s "Dear Chelsea" podcast where she opened up about her divorce and how things are looking for her now. Anna Faris was married to Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008 and Chris Pratt from 2009 to 2018, with whom she shares a son, Jack, who is now 9 years old.

Because she has been divorced twice, Anna Faris quipped that she is like a divorced veteran during the talk. She said that the first divorce impacted her hard because she became someone she did not recognize. Anna admitted to Chelsea Handler that before the divorce, she always kept her fridge stocked and had many dinner parties, but that she now just had beer and mustard. She continued by saying that despite often leaving the house, she didn't have anyone to contact or phone to let them know she could do this.

The MOM actress said that it was incredibly liberating for her at the time when she returned to her 17-year-old self and was in a bar with the persona that she was dangerous, but she was terrified. Anna explained that she was terrified because she was not a good lover, especially when she was younger and was self-conscious about her body and did not want anybody to see it, but at the same time, she would dance on the edges of it and wanted to be desired desperately.

The actress explained that her mother never complimented her physical appearance and added that she was such a late bloomer who had chubby cheeks, and wore headgear for expletive years. Anna Faris said that she thinks her parents did that to her because they wanted her to stay a virgin and that was one of the struggles in her life for sure. When she entered the industry she said she just got fake boobs and bleached her hair. That was Anna's strategy who explained that in Hollywood, if you are at a thing and everybody looks beautiful and someone is like, ‘I think you look so beautiful,' to which she said that she can’t absorb that very well and added that it’s a little too much for her.

Anna Faris eloped with cinematographer Michael Barrett and shared that this time things have been easy for her as she can accept a lot of love, although she still struggles with it a bit, but explained that when she was younger, if there was a lot of love, she must have subconsciously liked a chase as it feels healthier, adding that it feels like she can be loved. Anna Faris and Michael Barrett started dating in 2017 and shared they instantly had an intimacy and added both of them are probably introverts in a very similar way and he has two children and that has been awesome. Anna said that she had learned a lot about herself through his kids. It's been really rewarding. Later she mentioned on her podcast that the wedding was at a local courthouse up in Washington state. It was great.

Back in May 2021, Anna Faris also spoke about her divorce on her Anna Faris’ Unqualified podcast and said that she sees things differently when they happen. She said at the time that for her, she thinks that after every breakup, she realized that there were a lot of things that she ignored that she should have noticed or pointed out and she mentioned that she does not think it was ever an independent decision.

While speaking to guest Rachel Bilson on her Unqualified podcast, she reflected upon her relationship with Chris Pratt and said that not having a close group of friends during her marriage hurt her ability to talk through issues with Chris Pratt and led them to keep up with their appearances. She shared that it stunned her and added that she never really talked about any of her issues with ex-husband Chris Pratt with anyone and shared that she thinks that both she and Chris protected that imagery even within their close circles, even as things were more transparent with her relationship with Ben Indra.

During the conversation, she spoke to a caller who told Anna Faris that she called off her engagement, to which Anna Faris said that maybe she should have done the same before marrying Chris Pratt and added that calling off the engagement is a smarter, stronger, braver move than a divorce, which was like, everyone had expected this, so let’s just go through with it. Chris Pratt and Anna Faris finalized their divorce in 2018 and have since co-parented their son, Jack.

Anna Faris is now married to Michael Barrett and is a stepmom to her new husband Michael Barrett's two children. Chris Pratt is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, with whom he shares two beautiful daughters.
