Hailey Bieber is telling her story!
Hailey Bieber took to her YouTube channel to share the scary and sudden hospitalization incident that took place in March, for the first time. She said that she wants to speak about the incident in her own words, which is why she is putting up the video.
Hailey described that she felt a weird sensation in her right arm at the time while she was having breakfast with Justin Bieber, and soon her fingertips felt numb and weird. She added that when Justin noticed that something was not right, he asked her if she was okay, but she was not able to speak. Hailey said that the right side of her face started drooping and she couldn’t get a sentence out, and she felt like she was having a stroke.
The model said that a medic was nearby, and as the ambulance was on its way, the medic started examining her. Her face drooping lasted for 30 seconds, but she was struggling to communicate and her anxiety was making things worse for her.
Hailey Baldwin Bieber also stated in her video that by the time she arrived at the emergency hospital, she was almost back to normal, meaning she could communicate and was no longer experiencing any issues with her face or arms. However, she was kept under observation for the night and had several tests done to figure out what had happened and what had caused the blood clot. Hailey stated that she had received a score of 0 on the stroke checklist, indicating that she was no longer having symptoms.
The model said that the tests revealed that she had suffered a TIA, which is a transient ischemic attack or mini-stroke, and her scans showed that she had experienced a lack of oxygen in her brain for a period, which was caused by the blood clot and led to the mini-stroke. Hailey informed the fans that her doctors had revealed to her a set of three reasons or events that had contributed to her stroke.
Hailey started taking birth control without consulting her doctor, and because she frequently suffers from migraines, birth control caused issues for her. She recently had COVID and then traveled from Prais and back in a really short amount of time. Even though she was released the next morning and had revealed on social media that she was recovering, the doctors described these events as a "perfect storm" for her.
The doctors had no idea how the blood clot had made its way to her brain, and could not believe that she had a PFO, which is a tiny gap in the heart that generally heals after birth. Hailey returned to UCLA for a follow-up, and after undergoing a transcranial doppler, a "more accurate" and "in-depth" ultrasound test used to detect strokes caused by blood clots, she was diagnosed with a PFO.
Hailey shared that she was at the Grade 5 PFO, which is the highest grade possible, and the small hole measured about 12 and 13 millimeters. The model shared that she was so grateful to be aware of what had caused the stroke and that, because of her PFO, the blood clot had escaped her heart and traveled to her brain. She underwent a procedure to close the PFO, and she mentioned that her heart tissue will grow back around the closure device.
In her video, Hailey Bieber said that she is now recovering and looking forward to her future before adding that the biggest thing she feels currently is that they were able to figure everything out and fix what needed to be fixed in time so that she could move on. She described the whole thing as really scary and said that she is now trying to just live her life. She thanked all the doctors and professionals who helped her and treated her throughout the process.
Hailey said that she wanted to wait until everything went smoothly before sharing the story with everyone and added that if someone has gone through a similar situation like hers, she empathizes with them and understands how scary and life-altering the situation gets. She finally stated that she is taking care of herself and is no longer experiencing any related symptoms. It was also reported that Justin Bieber is now taking extra care of his wife because he was pretty much shaken himself when all of this happened back in March.
