According to various reports, Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde have decided to take some time apart after dating for two years.
Sources have shared that Harry Styles is still touring and is gearing up to go abroad, while Olivia Wilde is focusing on her kids and her work in Los Angeles; thus, the couple has decided amicably to take a break.
The news of their "break" comes after actress-director Olivia Wilde was spotted along with her kids, Otis and Daisy, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis, at Harry Styles’ concert on November 15th in Los Angeles. The family of three were spotted dancing and singing along with the singer.
A source mentioned that Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are close friends, but their priorities are very different now, which is keeping the two of them apart for now. The controversies surrounding their released movie, "Don’t Worry, Darling," added public pressure on them, which is also one of the causes of the ups and downs in their relationship. A source told Page Six that there is no bad blood between the duo, clarifying that Harry Styles did not dump Olivia Wilde or vice versa and adding that this is the longest relationship Harry has ever had, so the ex-couple have a bond.
Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles were linked in January 2021 after the two of them were spotted holding hands as they attended a wedding together in California. The actress announced her separation from Jason Sudeikis in November 2020, and when the pictures of Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde went viral, it was reported that Jason Sudeikis had a hard time adjusting to the new romance.
Olivia and Jason ended their relationship amicably, according to a source at the time, and both wanted to remain close and friends for the sake of their children and because they share mutual admiration and affection for one another. The source went on to say that Jason Sudeikis held out hope he and Olivia Wilde would ultimately resolve and get back together, but that did not happen.
In an interview with Vogue in December 2020, Olivia Wilde couldn't stop gushing about Harry Styles. She recalls one incident where she and the film's costume designer Arianne Phillips did a little happy dance after they were informed that Harry Styles had agreed to sign on to the project. Olivia Wilde was not only acting in the movie but was also directing it. Olivia said at the time that she is appreciative that the One Direction alum is so energetic about that aspect of the process—some performers just don't care. It was reported that Harry Styles was always the first choice for the lead part of the movie but when he had some issues with the dates, the director moved on to cast Shia Labeouf that didn't work out either and by god's grace, Harry Styles' schedule was open so that's how he got on board.
Harry and Olivia were so secure of their relationship that they didn't walk the red carpet together for the Don't Worry, Darling premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September. Instead, Harry and Olivia posed for a group photo with actress Sydney Chandler in the middle.
In response to their notoriously private romance, Olivia later told Variety that she will not comment as she has never seen a relationship profit from being pulled into the public eye. She went on to say that they both go out of their way to protect their relationship, which she appears to believe arises from experience but could also be the result of deep love.
Meanwhile, Olivia Wilde was embroiled in a bitter custody battle with Jason Sudeikis, and many fans believed she dumped the "Ted Lasso" star for Harry Styles, which she denied. During an interview with Vanity Fair, she stated that the accusations or assumptions that she left Jason for Harry are complete nonsense. Olivia went on to say that their relationship was over long before she met Harry and that, like any other relationship, it didn't end overnight.
