Hayden Panettiere opens up about her relationship with her daughter Kaya.
During a conversation with People magazine where actress Hayden Panettiere she shared that she decided to send her daughter Kaya to live with her father, Wladimir Klitschko, in Ukraine, to protect her and be a good mother to her. She explained that she made that choice because she was struggling with addiction and needed to take care of herself before she could nurture her daughter.
She explained that deciding to send her daughter to live in Ukraine was the hardest thing she ever had to do, but it was for her good and to make sure that she was okay, taken care of, and happy. Further in her interview, Hayden Panettiere said that she is still amazed that her now 7-year-old daughter came out of her and added that she is smarter than her and joked that she is going to be taller than her.
The Nashville actress stated during the conversation about how things are with her and her daughter at the moment and said that Kaya has a beautiful life and is not in Ukraine due to the ongoing war with Russia. Hayden Panettiere said that she was just with her and described her as an amazing child who is funny, and smart and mentioned that for whatever reason, she still loves the actress.
In March, the actress launched Hoplon International, a charity where every dollar contributed or raised goes straight to the front liner in Ukraine, inspired by her daughter's experiences there. Hayden Panettiere added that she spoke with her daughter since she was going through a difficult and trying time, as is the case for everyone right now in terms of Ukraine. Kaya's single persistent query was, "Why is Putin doing this?" She stated that she started Hoplon International to make sure that every dollar that people contribute gets to med kits and safety gear, helmets, and blood, for the individuals who are on the frontlines. The actress continued that they are still giving out protective gear to them whenever they can.
The actress, who is gearing up to reprise her role in the Scream movie after being away from the spotlight, feels grateful that they can travel, and Kaya is a happy kid, open to the huge world, and has more love than anyone she has ever met. She also revealed that even though Kaya is out of Ukraine, her father and Hayden Panettiere’s ex, Wladimir Klitschko, is on the ground fighting as his brother Vitali Klitschko is the mayor of Kyiv, and stated that every time she receives a text or hears his voice, it’s such a relief for her.
Hayden Panettiere said on her social media that she had seen firsthand the tenacity of the Ukrainian people, who had battled valiantly for their freedom and have since steadfastly upheld their nation. She claimed that seeing what is occurring in Ukraine is horrifying and upsetting.
The actress Hayden Panettiere and the former professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko started dating on and off in 2011 and confirmed their relationship in 2013. It was later reported that Wladimir Klitschko had proposed to Hayden as well, and very few people at the time knew about it. The couple's engagement was never officially announced, but Us magazine reported in 2014 that they were expecting their first child, Kaya. The duo called it quits on their engagement in 2018 and, since their separation, have tried to co-parent Kaya in the best possible way.
In January 2019, Hayden Panettiere spoke to US magazine and said that they are very respectful of each other and still have that friendship they had for a long time and shared that, according to them, they have done a good job. After the separation, Hayden Panettiere moved on with actor Brian Hickerson, but in 2019 he was arrested for domestic abuse after an alleged confrontation with the actress. After a court hearing where he pled not guilty, a protection order was then placed in place. He switched to a no-contest plea for two of the offenses a year later.
Speaking of second chances, for the forthcoming sixth movie, she will reprise her role as Kirby Reed, a beloved character from "Scream 4" The actress said while appearing on Good Morning America that she called them up and said that if they are planning to bring Kirby back for the sixth movie or not and added that she wanted to be a part of it. She continued that she cannot give much about the movie but added that no one is going to be disappointed and added that she is very excited to be back to work with new team and new enthusiasm.
The movie is currently being filmed, and it will premiere on March 31, 2023.
