Known for playing Superman on-screen, British actor, Henry Cavil, who is currently topping the list of actors who are expected to take over the role of James Bond after Daniel Craig bids adieu to the franchise with his fifth and final installment, ‘No Time To Die, has addressed the conversation by mentioning, "I think it would be very exciting to have a conversation with the producers." In an ideal world, I'd never had to turn anything down. Nothing is off the table. It's an honor to even be part of that conversation. "

Henry Cavil is currently filming "Enola Holmes 2," a Netflix original starring Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavil. Sam Clafin starred as Mycroft Holmes in the first part, but there has been no update whether he'd return for the second part of the movie or not. Cavil has expressed his thoughts on a potential return to the screen as Superman by mentioning that the cape is still in the closet. Especially when DC Films has now announced the new Black Superman, Henry Cavil seemed quite open about both the characters' co-existing in the DC Universe. He has appeared as Superman in three movies including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

The actor mentioned, "Superman is far more than skin color. Superman is an ideal. Superman is an extraordinary thing that lives within our hearts. Why not have multiple Supermen going on? Joaquin Phoenix did a wonderful Joker movie;so what if it’s not tied to the rest? They have multiple Superman comic book storylines happening at the same time."

According to sources, Dwayne Johnson, who is expected to wow audiences with his Black Adam persona, has been so outgoing that he went straight to Warner Brothers' executives to persuade them to bring back Henry Cavil's Superman, even if it was only for a cameo in his picture. He's also expressed interest in bringing back Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, and Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher.

Henry Cavil, who is looking forward to returning with his highly anticipated second season of ‘The Whitcher’, mentioned the moment in Man of Steel where his version of Superman kills Zod, who is portrayed by Michael Shannon, and argued that there is so much more story to tell beyond the Kryptonian hero’s immediate reaction. "Superman falling to the ground and screaming afterward – I don't think that was originally in the script, but I wanted to show the pain he had. I did far more emotional takes than they chose; tears were happening."

Talking further, the actor mentioned, "The killing of Zod gave a reason for the character never to kill again. Superman falling to the ground and screaming afterward — I don’t think that was originally in the script, but I wanted to show the pain he had. I did far more emotional takes than they chose; tears were happening. He just killed the last remaining member of his species. That’s the choice he made At that moment, and he’ll never do that again. There’s an opportunity for growth after that, to explore the psyche of Superman as a deep, seemingly invulnerable god-like being but with real feelings on the inside. As I always say, "the cape is still in the closet.'"

During his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Henry Cavil mentioned that when he is on set, because of the rush-rush, people often forget the basic human decencies, and he wants people to know that he respects everything the people present on set do and that they are doing a job just like the actors, and for him, greeting them in the morning is respect and good manners.

Zack Snyder calls Henry Cavil 'a warrior monk’, whereas director Christopher McQuarrie describes the actor as, ‘In a town full of celebrities, Henry is a classic movie star’, which says a lot about the actor who, with his dedication, and love for the craft, has managed to take his place in the hearts and minds of critics and the audience. McQuarrie continues, "It’s not like there was something in the water in the 1930s and ’40s that there isn’t today. Because of two simple reasons: The industry wanted and cultivated stars, and there were people ready to do the work required to be stars. Henry is in the category of somebody hell-bent on doing the work, and that work is hard. "Zack Snyder shared a story about how Henry Cavil, who is still open to portraying Superman once again on-screen if given a chance or call back, got his part as Superman. The director said that they did not know exactly who Henry Cavil was until 2010 when he was asked to try on Christopher Reeve’s original spandex suit and everything fell into place because of the energy and determination he brought with himself. Henry Cavil recalled the same incident, sharing, "If I’m going to be honest, what was going through my mind was, ‘Lord, I’m too fat to be wearing this suit right now'. And also, ‘I can’t believe I’m actually doing this’— there was a sense of excitement, achievement, and nervousness."

Henry Cavil stayed away from the controversies surrounding Zack Snyder’s replacement, Joss Whedon’s abusive behavior on sets, though he did acknowledge in an interview that the theatrical cut "didn’t work." The actor has now mentioned that Zack Snyder did a "wonderful job" with his Snyder Cut re-edit. People who have worked with the actor have always mentioned that he has a soldier’s endurance and strong mental stamina.

Speaking about Henry Cavil's role in Fallout opposite Tom Cruise, Christopher McQuarrie shared that he re-wrote the character to take advantage of Henry Cavil’s dry sense of humor and quoted, "The end result was that you had a ‘bad guy’in the movie who never lost that leading man appeal." Henry Cavil’s character was killed off in the movie, for which the director had to listen to the opinions and views of the audience, and has now hinted at a possible appearance in the planned eighth film. He shared, "I’m in the process of rewriting Mission: 8 right now. This afternoon I could turn a page and any actor from the past could come back. There is no such thing as death in movies, only unavailability. "

Discussing his role in The Whitcher, Henry Cavil acknowledges that he is the number one caller, which is why he feels that there’s a great responsibility that comes with it. Showrunner, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, mentioned, "A lot of times, that person can make the show a hurricane that revolves around them. Henry works hard to make that not so. He’s on time. He always knew his lines. Likewise, he always knows his choreography and certainly always knows his actions."

Henry Cavil mentioned that after the success of season one, he had ideas for how to approach season two and that the lockdown had given them time to think about everything and how they could tweak things to make season two interesting and successful. Hissrich says "Everybody came out of season one laughing and loving Geralt’s fuming. But Henry was saying that when you read the books, you spend a lot of time in Geralt’s head. So how can we put that on the page? Meanwhile, I wanted to tell the story of him becoming a father figure to Ciri. So those two things coalesced wonderfully. He opens up to get Ciri to trust him, by speaking his mind and his heart more. " The second season is all set to premiere in December and the series is already renewed for the third season.

Henry Cavil lastly added, "I’m a private person and a family person. The spotlight is beneficial, but it can also be exhausting. I like to put my feet up without being concerned with how I’m being perceived or what I’m putting out there, and I can do that in a private space with friends and family. We’ve seen plenty of celebrity events where somebody’s lost their temper, and I’m sure a lot of that comes down to the feeling of being exposed. "

Whether Henry Cavil returns on-screen as Superman or gets cast as the new James Bond, time will tell, but till then you can wait for season two of The Whitcher, Enola Holmes 2, or re-watch The Whitcher season one or any Henry Cavil films.
