Spider-Man: No Way Home, one of the most anticipated Marvel movies, was on the verge of not being produced. Walt Disney Company and Sony Pictures Entertainment, the two companies responsible for the production of the film, were nearing the brink of falling out and not carrying on with the idea of the film. Yet, seeing the public anticipation of the movie, the companies had to come together and release this one wonder of a Spider-Man film.

Now that another Spider-Man movie will finally be returning to the screens, fans just can't wait. The film will feature Tom Holland's portrayal of Spider-Man. Considering the hype of the movie and the fanbase of Tom Holland, the third Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be the talk of the decade.

With the movie finally in sight, it is time to know more about the film, especially about Holland as the iconic Peter Parker and, of course, the Spider-verse.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans of the Marvel Spider universe will once again get to see Tom Holland portrayed as the legendary character. He revealed his casting in the film by disclosing that he will be a part of Sony's Uncharted video game series that is an adaption of the movie. Hence, Holland gets to play Spidey again!

Other members returning for the film will be the recurring cast, lead by Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Peter's best friend Ned, and Marisa Tomei as Peter's aunt, May Parker. Flash Thompson, the supposed enemy of Peter Parker as portrayed by Tony Revolori, will return for the film. J.K. Simons might also have a feature starring once again as J. Jonah Jameson. Last he was seen in the ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home. If anything, that brief appearance might have been a foretelling for the latest Spider-Man movie, teasing what is about to come. The cast will be joined by more familiar faces from the Spider universe.

Creators, writers, and producers

John Watts, the director, will be calling the shots in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He is now part of the "thrilling three" exclusive filmmakers club that includes Peyton Reed, the director of the Ant-Man series, and James Gunn, the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy. These three men are currently the driving force behind the Marvel cinematic universe.

Others to join the crew for Spider-Man once again are scriptwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. They will be joined by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige, the producers for the Spider-Man franchise. The crew will be working on their third Spidey film alongside Tom Holland.

What's to transpire from Holland's third Marvel movie?

People are speculating that Spider-Man 2021 is going to be one of the biggest Spidey productions ever.

Rumors have been running high that Jamie Foxx will once again return to play Electro after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 by Sony. The film, though with an extravagant production, couldn't seem to impress people, and hence it led to casting Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Now, it is just a question of time to see if Jamie Foxx is cast as the character Electro again, or maybe he will have something more lined up for him in the latest MCU film.

Moreover, the film characters will also be joined by Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Now that Tony Stark's character is out of the MCU forever, it is yet to be decided who will take over the role of Peter Parker's "mentor." Possibly, that is the role that Benedict might be filling after Tony Stark in Homecoming and Nick Fury in Far From Home. But apparently, Dr. Strange is going to be more of a partner in crime than one who steers the character away from it. The two, Benedict and Tom, were seen in the teaser trying to erase Peter's public outing by using magic.

This can eventually transpire to creating Doctor Strange's character for the 2022 movie: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The character is going to have to contend with Loki and, of course, his apparent condition after WandaVison.

Possible reunion of Spider-verses?

The much-anticipated film has created a plethora of theories that are running rampant. Evidently, the latest theory took roots when Jamie Foxx posted ( and then deleted ) a picture of all the three Spider-Mans, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. This was enough to fuel rumors that the three Spideys might get to meet their peers from the alternate Spider universes in the latest Spider-Man film.

The rumors seem to have substance as more and more information is pouring in confirming that cast members of the previous Spider-Man universes are reprising their famous roles. Alfred Molina, who played Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2, was seen on set reprising his role. He was soon followed in by Kirsten Dunst, who re-portrayed her role of Mary Jane Watson from The Amazing Spider-Man, the first Spidey series. Of course, there are talks that Andrew Garfield might be joining the set along with the first Spider-Man Tobey Maguire and Emma Stone, who played Gwen Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man. But still, the role revivals are just rumors except Molina's confirmed casting.

INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE 2?

The Spider-Man franchise has a lot of potential, one possible idea being the Sinister Six, which would show all the enemies of Spider-Man coming together to defeat him. Yet the notion couldn't take flight due to the critical response faced by Amazing Spider-Man 2, and hence, the production continued by giving Peter Parker a debut appearance in Captain America: Civil War.

Still, Into the Spider-Verse was created by Sony, following in close talks of producing movies about Black Cat and Silver Sable. The films are already in the developing stage, along with Madame web, Silk, and Spider-Woman. In fact, Olivia Wilde might be looking to work on the opposite side of the camera to direct Spider-Woman. Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius are already slated for release now.

When is the movie releasing?

The movie is slated for release on December 17th, 2021, and has already released its teaser in August. Spider-Man: No Way Home is definitely on its way to make it in theaters and onto the screen this year, yet the recurring pandemic waves could be the one factor that needs to be taken into consideration.
