The Grammy Awards this year were a great event, as compared to the other award ceremonies that just rolled by in 2022. Still, it was quite entertaining and pleasurable to watch, minus the public trauma.

The highlight of the event was Silk Sonic sweeping the Grammy awards this year. The band got onto the stage to accept their award and Dernst Emile II dedicated the win to his mother, who passed away last Wednesday.

The singer stood on the stage with Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, and shared his gratitude to his team, his family, and his wife for having won the award. Then he paid a tribute to his late mother for bagging the accolade and the title of the Best Song of the Year. Silk Sonic won the award for their song Leave the Door Open.

The audience was shocked to hear the sad news of the singer's mother passing away and then they applauded the talented musician for his skill and courage. The mike was then taken over by Bruno Mars, who had first created Silk Sonic by pairing up with his friend, .Paak.

The singer exclaimed his love for Andy and also shared with everyone for the help they lent to bring their album into reality. He also shared his thanks for Andy, saying that he could not have done it without him, and once again relayed his gratitude to everyone present.

In a very funny moment, the Grammys saw .Paak turning his back to the audience so he could zip up his pants while the audio dropped down. When he turned back, Mars was already saying that he and Andy would continue to sing the Grammy-winning song for their lifetime. He ended his speech with a prayer of blessing for everyone.

To this, .Paak added that they would love everyone, their fans, and their audience, for the rest of their lives. All the artists who joined them to win the award for the song are Brandon Anderson, ( Anderson. Paak's real name ), Bruno Mars, Dernst Emile II, and Christopher Brody Brown.

Mars is now in a tie with a few other artists when it comes to holding the most Grammy awards as a writer. He won the title as the Best Writer for Song of the Year and now stands at par with Adele, U2, Will Jennings, James Horner, Johnny Mercer, and Henry Mancini, having two awards each in the category.

Last year, the award of the Best Writer for the Song was won by H.E.R. for her song I Can't Breathe. This year, Leave the Door Open won the honor and left behind others nominated for the category that included "Drivers License" by Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever," "Kiss Me More" by Doja Cat ft. SZAEd Sheeran's "Bad Habits," "A Beautiful Noise" by Alicia Keys and Brandi Carlile, H.E.R. 's "Fight for You," "Montero ( Call Me by Your Name )" by Lil Nas X,  Justin Bieber ft. Daniel Caesar and Giveon's "Peaches," "Right on Time" by Brandi Carlile.

Another noteworthy moment in the Grammys this year was Kanye West pulling out as a performer from the awards event. He was scheduled to perform as an artist at the 64th Annual ceremony of the awards distribution but was removed from the list of performers.

The organization stated that Kanye West was deprived of the honor because of his increasingly brazen behavior online. They said that it was most unfortunate to remove him from the list of the many performers starring that night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3.

Kanye West has recently come to be known as Ye, as per a legal name change.

The media outlet that first opened up about the news, The Blast, shared that the decision was announced following the many online exchanges between Donda rapper and the host of the awards event, Trevor Noah

The singer also saw himself banned from Instagram for about a few days after his racial slur against Noah was made public. The outrage had followed a comment by the host on The Daily show page relating to Kanye West and his behavior when it comes to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, her boyfriend.

Noah revealed his thoughts about the situation claiming that Kim wants to live her life with the person she loves now without having to deal with the hate that Kanye brings to her and her boyfriend. The host wisely claimed that not many people will sympathize with the celebrity because she is rich, has a constant habit of appropriating black culture, or because she is famous, but no one should be made to live through what she endures because of her ex-husband.

He also revealed that many women go through similar situations, and someone famous living such a life only highlights how worse it could be for other women out there who choose to live a life they like.

Kanye took the whole comment in a negative light and went on to racially insult the host while accusing him of rejecting his ethnicity. Noah replied calmly, calling Ye an "incredible" part of his life but that it hurts to see him be so reckless with his accusations and behavior.

Upon Kanye being removed from the Grammys' list of performers, Noah retaliated, saying that he had asked to counsel Kanye but not cancel him.
