What makes Starship Troopers stand out in the "mindless and numb sci-fi" films is its ability to let you laugh for a few moments despite the pointless adventure it creates in the name of political satire and a sci-fiction for a span as long as 2 hours.

It doesn't happen time and again, at least not when Verhoeven created Starship Troopers back in 1997. Yeah, Paul Verhoeven is the same person who created many 'entertaining adventures'  under the name of science-fiction and seeing his previous works, namely, 'Total Recall' and 'Robocop', we know what to expect particularly from his movies basically including two things – Sheer red violence and entertainment (Because you the way the cast is cast!)

The plot of the film is pretty basic; it simply consists of the rich young generation who get together to serve their nation via indulging in the defense forces to save the country, America, from the entered alien bugs. The movie highlights sequences of friendship, sex and battleship hand in hand.

The filmography is made such that there is no tolerance of obscure and highly abusive language used in the scenes to depict the senseless passion evoked during wartime. The ugly side of the battle is shown by the director in this film which is compensated by employing a strikingly dashing cast, therefore maintaining the balance in the best possible way.

The warmongering slang used here is so fearless and excruciatingly bad that it makes the other side of the battleground looks like mere insects, but of the kind that can potentially harm you hard.

Rounding up the movie is like that piece of work done that doesn’t want to undergo the process of self-introspection and refute to take itself too seriously.

Mocking the genre is what let the “Starship troopers” stand out in the era of mind-numbing films of the same genres. So, if you know you could laugh at it, you’ll enjoy it for sure!
