Noah Cyrus reveals some advice she received from her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Noah Cyrus, who has opened up about her substance abuse struggle, started her recovery in 2020 and recently shared some advice that she received from her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, which made her commitment to recovery stronger.

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday, Noah Cyrus said that she was struggling with Xanax addiction in the summer of 2020, which is when Billy Ray Cyrus asked her to take off her shoes, put her feet in the grass, and walk home. Noah said that Billy just asked her to stand still and breathe in the air and get connected back to who she is and that nothing else should matter.

The singer said that she and her father had such an amazing moment that she had not had in such a long time and mentioned that she could tell her dad that she was struggling but he was not aware of how much she needed to hear such positive and meaningful things from him and remind herself of the time at the time.

The younger sister of Miley Cyrus opened up about her addiction and recovery process with the Rolling Stones where she admitted that she first tried downers at the age of 18 and has been in recovery for nearly two years. Noah explained that she tried it on because she wanted to fit in with her boyfriend at the time, to be what he wanted, what he thought was cool, and what she believed everyone else was doing. At the time, when she was 18, her boyfriend was the one who offered her a Xanax, and it rapidly became a way for them to bond.

Noah Cyrus explained that she claimed that once she realized that she could temporarily block out the world and numb the anguish she was experiencing, it was over for her. She also claimed that she was constantly around by people who had easy access to Xanax and who did not object to her heavy drug use. She was doing press when she fell asleep in the middle of the chat and realized she needed help since she was too far gone to keep her head up or her eyes open. That period was like a bottomless, dark abyss, according to Noah. She acknowledged that everyone was aware of her struggles, and she said that her followers had to have seen her peculiar behavior and must have called attention to it.

Noah Cyrus also mentioned while speaking to Rolling Stones that her grandmother's death in August 2020 served as a wake-up call for her to get help and begin her road to recovery. She continued, saying that while she is now going through it all by herself and learning from it, she is in no way trying to advocate for other people to begin their recovery journeys or anything similar. She continued by saying that when she wakes up in the morning, she can see herself in the mirror, go on with her day without despising herself, and can reassurance and care for herself.

The father-daughter duo released their first duet 'Noah (Stand Still) which is a part of Noah Cyrus' new album 'The Hardest Part'. Fans have been pouring their love and support for the song and thanking the duo for sharing an intimate moment between a father and daughter into their music for the world to listen and understand.
