The second episode of The Kardashians premiered and detailed the highly publicized Blac Chyna defamation lawsuit against the Kardashians and Jenners and how it affected the entire family.
Kris Jenner in the episode shared when she got the time to spend time with Kylie Jenner after she welcomed her second child, a baby boy with Travis Scott, but Kris Jenner's mind was thinking about the ongoing lawsuit between her son Rob Kardashian’s ex Blac Chyna and the Kardashians and Jenners.
Speaking in a confessional, Kris Jenner said that although it is always nice to spend time with her daughter, the family is currently preoccupied with the ongoing trial. The mother further stated that Blac Chyna has filed a lawsuit against the family, including Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner, for defaming her reputation and interfering with her agreement with E! Kris Jenner went on to say that she is a highly protective mother and that it is exhausting.
Kris added she can't comment because she doesn't want to contribute to the drama, but she wants to keep her mind off the trial right now by spending time with her daughter Kylie and the new baby. She and her family have found situations like the defamation trial to be mentally, physically, and spiritually draining.
Because the jury did not find the Kardashian-Jenner family to be at fault in Blac Chyna's defamation case, the mother-daughter discussion was captured before the family formally won the case. Because of a lawsuit, Blac Chyna filed against the Kardashian family, she lost her reality program with her ex-fiance Rob Kardashian and missed out on a few brand collaborations. Blac Chyna claimed that the family interfered with her E! contract and defamed her character online.
Before a jury in May found the Kardashian-Jenner family not guilty of defaming Blac Chyna, Kim Kardashian was ultimately dropped from the defamation lawsuit. The model received no monetary awards for damages.
Later, on the MET Gala 2022 red carpet, Kris Jenner spoke to Variety and that she was happy with the outcome and pleased that it was over explaining that she had immense faith in their truth and she is really happy that the case is over and now her daughters can move on from it.
On May 2, a judge at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles announced that the jury found that the Kardashian-Jenners had not unfairly harmed the career of the mother of two, and it gave Blac Chyna no compensation.Although the jury was sent back to deliberate on four questions but it did not change the verdict.
Michael Rhodes shared after the verdict was announced that he thinks that the case was very clear-cut. The jury got it and mentioned that he has spoken to the family who were not present in the court when the verdict was announced and said that they're also very pleased.
