If you have watched Encanto or have been active on the internet for the past few months, the song "We Don't Talk About Bruno" must have surely been stuck in your head.

Catchy and easy to hum, We Don't Talk About Bruno has been made into countless TikTok videos and Instagram Reels over the months now. First heard in Encanto, the song was created by the musical genius Lin-Manuel Miranda

Encanto was released on Disney+ in November last year and managed to earn a massive amount of love from fans and critics alike. The film has stunning character development arcs for its characters and has no match when it comes to the casts' spectacular voice acting.

The film is also made great from the view of its pristine and seamless animation and not to ignore the cultural commitment to play the family in question.

Encanto is the story of the magical family Madrigal. Residing somewhere in the heart of Columbia in a place hidden by mountains from all sides, the place houses the secret of the magical family.

Captivating and enchanting in its own right, the film shows that the Madrigal family comes to welcome magical children in each new generation. The gifts are unique to the child and allow them to help shoulder the burden of the family ( pun intended ) and also help the people living in the community.

Things had been going pretty great until Mirabel arrives, an oddity in the family who breaks the cycle of the gift. The family goes through countless emotions as they try to move on from the disaster of Mirabel not receiving a gift, and all of their various struggles are beautifully highlighted using music in Encanto.

The soundtrack is not highly relatable by the audience but also consists of some seriously cool beats that helped the songs top the charts and stay there for a long while. The making of such brilliant songs has since always fascinated the audience.

Miranda, the magical figure behind the ultimate success of these songs shared that he had started working on the music back in June 2020. He wrote the eight original songs of the movie, including the Spanish songs too.

As a result of his genius creations, the music of Encanto has received the same amount of success as the songs of frozen II. The song "We Don't Talk About Bruno" became the second-ever song from Disney to reach the top position on charts after frozen tracks. Needless to say, all the previous records have been left broken.

The songwriter of Encanto recently sat together with Collider and shared how he came across the origin of the song We Don't Talk About Bruno. It is surprising to hear that the songwriter did not expect the song to reach such heights of success and that he was shocked to see that song rising on the charts.

In fact, he had thought that if there were a song in Encanto destined to make history, it was most likely not We Don't Talk About Bruno. The song was initially set to be sung by the other characters of the film without being overheard by anyone else but the one who was singing the song.

Yet, he ended up assigning the song to the characters of the film except for the lead character, as they all sing solos one by one. The characters pick each other's words in the song and continue on with their own respective sentences and experiences as they lived with Bruno.

Majorly to understand the song, the songwriter suggests that everyone watches the film.

Regardless, not being sung by the lead character is why Miranda thought that the song did not have the potential to be a chart-topping candidate. Calling it an "unlikely success" he shared that his main aim with the song was to add parts as more and more characters stumbled across the song, and revealed the secrets of Bruno to each other.

The song was hence a way for Miranda to prove that all the characters could be put together into a single song and that it was mostly about the gossip of the family. Additionally, the song also featured parts of the characters who themselves did not get to sing solos in the song.

He began by writing parts for Dolores and Camilo, where they were both allowed to have verses to see how their voices had sounded in the song. Yet they did not have entire tunes dedicated to their characters. It was just a way for him to pitch the song as he first showcased it.

The song ended up creating a fan base for Camilo and Dolores as different people loved different verses of the song. Most people love singing both Camilo and Dolores.

The song can also be seen as a family Karaoke number shared by Miranda. All the family members get to have a verse in it as they continue on with the story. The musician once again urged his fans to watch the movie so that they can better understand what is going on in We Don't Talk About Bruno.
