Johnny Depp is subtly shading Amber Heard.

Johnny Depp, who has moved on from the defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard and is back to making music and acting, has recently shaded his ex-wife on his new album with Jeff Beck.

According to reports by The Sunday Times, Johnny Depp’s upcoming and highly anticipated collaborative album with friend and British guitarist Jeff Beck, titled "18", is all set to be released on Friday, and after taking a deeper look into the lyrics of the 13-track collaborative album, it seems that the actor is going to take subtle digs at Amber Heard.

According to The Sunday Times, Johnny Depp has written two original songs for the album in addition to the two cover songs that will be included on it and he will head them as well, "Caroline, No" by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys and "Venus in Furs" by the Velvet Underground. "Sad Motherf—-in Parade," one of Johnny Depp's original songs for "18," begins, "You're sitting there like a dog with a seven-year itch," and continues, "If I had a dime, it wouldn't reach your hand." The lyrics may be a covert jab at Amber Heard, according to the Sunday Times, given that the two have been involved in a highly publicized, six-week defamation suit.

The actor and musician have recently released a new single, "The Death and Resurrection Show," which is a cover of the 2003 song by English rock band Killing Joke. The other original song was written by Johnny Depp, ‘This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr', was released earlier, which was reportedly recorded over three years, and Jeff Beck mentioned that when he and Johnny Depp started playing together, it ignited their youthful spirit and creativity and they would joke about how they felt 18 again and thus the title of the album is ‘18’. Johnny Depp surprised the fans and everyone across the world when he appeared on stage as a guest performer on Jeff Beck’s European tour, which is going to end on July 25th. Johnny Depp said in a statement that it’s an extraordinary honor for him to play and write music with Jeff Beck, one of the true greats and someone he is now privileged enough to call his brother. Johnny Depp also announced that he would be heading out on tour with his band, "Hollywood Vampires," next year.

It is interesting to note that Johnny Depp has moved on from all the chaos that followed the defamation trial and is now focusing on getting back to what he loves: music and acting. But even though the verdict of the defamation trial was announced on June 1, 2022, in Fairfax County Court, Virginia after the jury reached a decision unanimously, the battle between the exes is not over yet as it seems like Amber Heard is not ready to accept the verdict as she believes that she was not given a fair trial.

The jury found out that Johnny Depp was defamed by the actress and acted with actual malice after she wrote an essay for the Washington Post in 2018 describing herself as a survivor of domestic abuse and violent crime. Johnny Depp won all three counts in the defamation trial after six long weeks of trial which was publicized for the world to see, while Amber Heard won only one out of three. After the verdict was announced, where Johnny Depp went ahead to thank everyone who was involved in the defamation trial, stating that after six years he got his life back and he is just grateful to everyone who supported him and was there for him, Amber Heard stated that the verdict was going to be a setback for women. She added in her statement that even though they had mountain of evidence, Johnny Depp's team was able to pursue the jury.

Amber Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, who agreed to an interview just the next day, said that they are ready to appeal and have excellent grounds for it and explained that they were not given a fair trial since they were not allowed to present a lot of evidence that was brought in the UK trial where the judge decides the verdict and Johnny Depp had lost the case against The Sun who had described him as 'wife-beater'. Now, the actress has claimed that one of the people who served as jurors was not supposed to be on jury duty but someone else with the same name and address was summoned, and she is now asking the judge to dismiss the verdict that was announced and a new trial should be ordered.

Amber Heard also appeared for an interview where she mentioned that she still has a lot of love for Johnny Depp and she is not out to seek revenge from him but no one can look her in the eye and tell her that the trial’s representation out in the audience was fair. She stated that there were notes from her therapist dating years back that were not allowed in the court on the count of hearsay but if allowed it would have changed the verdict.

Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez who were the head attorneys for Johnny Depp also agreed to interview after a week and said that for Johnny Depp the trial was always about clearing his name for the kids, fans and his family and friends who believed him throughout and speaking the truth and sharing his story, which he did, and the jury believed him and awarded him although it was never about the money for him.

Johnny Depp’s team is yet to make a comment on any of the comments by Amber Heard’s team asking for a new trial.
