Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are addressing the negative comments about their relationship.

Harry Styles, who is presently dating actress-director Olivia Wilde, recently addressed the criticism of their relationship that resulted from their 10-year age difference on the cover of the September issue of Rolling Stone.

Harry Styles said during the interview that the comments he reads online do not make him feel good, but also mentioned that the negativity and scrutiny over anything he does is something he is familiar with but is still uncomfortable bringing up when dating. Harry Styles claimed that perhaps people should imagine what it would be like to be on a couple of dates with someone while constantly thinking that there is this area of the thing and people are going to say this or say that maybe it's going to be wild, maybe they are going to be cruel, and it's not real. He claimed that this is what went through his mind at times before asking them what they want to eat.

The 28-year-old singer-actor who has made clear previously that he would like to keep his private life private said it's a challenging sensation to think that being close to him makes people feel like they are being held captive by a Twitter troll or something. He said that he simply wants to sing and did not want to go into it if it was going to hurt others in that way.

Speaking about Olivia Wilde and the attention that their relationship has garnered, Harry Styles said that she understands the fact that the small corner of Twitter or any other social media platform does not reflect the entirety of Harry Styles’ fan base. Olivia Wilde described Harry Styles’ fans, who are known as Harries, as deeply loving people before adding that the internet hate is the exact opposite of the singer’s music.

Olivia continued the conversation by stating that she doesn't understand the cruelty they are alluding to since that sort of toxic negativity is the polar opposite of Harry and all he promotes. She went on to say that the bulk of Harry Styles' fans are genuine advocates of compassion and that she does not think that the angry vibe reflects Harry Styles' fan base at all.

Harry Styles mentioned that he likes to be private about his personal life, which includes his relationships and his sexuality. It is no news that Harry Styles has never really commented on his sexuality but is known as the ‘queer’ icon, about which he shared that he has never talked about his life away from work publicly and has found that it’s the way that works for him and added that there is always going to be a version of his narrative about him and he has just decided that he is not going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way.

The musician, who is now on tour and getting ready for his next films, revealed that he prefers to keep his sexuality a secret and added that the very public romance shouldn't be used to define him. He claimed that he believes he has never openly been with anybody, despite other people claiming that he has only ever been seen with one lady. Harry Styles clarified that just because someone goes out with someone or is seen with someone, it does not always indicate that he is choosing to date publicly or anything else.

Like Mick Jagger and David Bowie before him, Harry Styles has championed gender fluidity in fashion and has emphasized how archaic it is to require labels and boxes for everyone's identity. His strategy has drawn criticism for being queerbaiting or making use of queer aesthetics without officially claiming the group.

Later in the interview, when talking about his character as a homosexual police officer who isn't out to the public in the upcoming movie 'My Policeman', Harry Styles noted that everyone, including himself, has their road to coming to terms with their sexuality. My Policeman, according to Harry Styles, is not a "gay narrative" but rather a very human story about squandered time and love. He also appears in the film "Don't Worry, Darling," which is directed by his partner Olivia Wilde. Olivia Wilde revealed that she was quite pleased with Harry Styles' performance in Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" when she was choosing the cast for her film.
