Andy Cohen is breaking his silence about Jen Shah’s guilty plea.

The executive producer of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Andy Cohen, is breaking his silence about Jen Shah’s decision to plead guilty to the telemarketing fraud scheme after denying and stating that she is innocent since she was first arrested in March. Jen Shah is one of the housewives who stars on the reality show along with others and will keep filming until she can.

Andy Cohen said during his Monday's episode of Sirius XM radio show that he does not know how to feel about the situation right now, which is Jen Shah pleading guilty to the telemarketing fraud scheme for which she was initially arrested in March. Andy added that all it meant was that she was changing her plea and recalled that Jen Shah had gifted Andy Cohen’s 2-month-old daughter, Lucy, a present.

Andy said that he told Jen Shah that with everything that has been going on in her life, she thought of sending a gift to his daughter, which she said was a nice gesture, to him. On Wednesday, the executive producer and host clarified that he was upset for the victims and at Jen Shah for lying for so long and claiming to him that she was being an example of someone who was wrongly accused. Andy said during his radio show that if anyone remembers, the reunion episode was so dogmatic about it that he felt like maybe they should let her have her day in court.

The host of Watch What Happens Live added that he is extremely upset about what the reality star had said and did, and he is also upset because he explained that when you get to know someone and you start to like them, you get to have a personal relationship with them and you work with them, you eventually want to be there for them, cheer for them and not believe that they are capable of such a heinous thing.

Andy Cohen explained his reaction to not knowing how to feel about the situation and said that when the news broke about Jen Shah pleading guilty, he did not have the time to read the news or details about it, or process it before saying anything because he was on air and he did not have the time to react or process the news. But later, the host shares that he read everything, read her confession and thought that it was a pretty stunning confession, confessing to all the charges, and mentioned that he had time to process all of it. Andy Cohen said that his "non-response" on Monday was more about him digesting the news in real-time, but it's crystal clear how he feels about the whole thing.

In a courtroom in Los Angeles on Monday, Jen Shah entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiring to conduct wire fraud in connection with telemarketing. The second accusation, which related to a conspiracy to commit money laundering, was dismissed by Judge Sidney Stein. The reality star may spend anywhere between 14 and 30 years in jail and receive five years of supervised release.

Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, stated that Jennifer Shah was an important player in a widespread operation that preyed on elderly and defenseless victims. Damian said that the victims were misled by Jen Shah and her co-conspirators into believing that they would have financial stability, but they cheated them out of their funds, leaving them with little to show for it, and added that the office is committed to exposing these frauds in many guises.

When Jen Shah and Stuart Smith were initially detained in March, they both entered not guilty pleas; however, Stuart Smith later entered a guilty plea. Jen Shah has now consented to lose $6.5 million and pay up to $9.5 million in restitution. Priya Chaudhry, Jen Shah's attorney said in a statement that Jen Shah is a kind person who made a mistake and expressed sorry for hurting anyone. She also claimed she takes full responsibility for her conduct. Jen Shah also expressed regret for disappointing her husband, children, loved ones, friends, and supporters, according to Priya Chaudhry. In order to make up for everything society has done for her and her family, Jen filed a guilty plea.

Jen Shah will be sentenced on November 28th, 2022.
