Jacob Elordi is gearing up for the release of HBO’s "Euphoria," season two, in which he plays the role of Nate Jacobs, a high school quarterback who struggles with an abusive father and is entangled with his demons. He recently spoke with Men's Health Magazine, where he revealed his preparation methods for the role, his previous work, the objectification in regards to men and how he manage to balance out the fame that came along.

Jacob said, "I would never train shirtless. But from day dot, I would just rip my shirt off and have, like, headphones on, playing Rage Against the Machine. I was trying to understand this mentality of what it is to be in the gym and look at yourself in the mirror and be like, "Faaaack, I look good."

Besides starring in "Euphoria"'s second season, Jacob is going to appear alongside Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas in "Deep Water," which is based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith and co-adapted by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. It is scheduled to release on January 14th.

Speaking about how his mother urged him to try out modeling because of his height, Jacob said, "I’m very grateful. I truly think I would’ve been miserable if I had to do that. " He was told that he was too tall for the sample sizes. Jacob was asked that he has often been told that he’s too tall to be an actor, but he asked how does being too tall affect someone’s empathy or emotional availability? Jacob answers this with a light laugh, "I guess tall people don’t experience things." The trick is that they just always cast me with girls who are five-foot-two. Everyone’s like, "You’re so big!" Yeah, but they’re also not big, not even average-sized women. They’re quite small. "

In addition to playing Nate Jacobs in Euphoria, Jacob Elordi soon became a dark symbol of a young man’s inner turmoil, and his character was seen as an example of white-male privilege who lives in an imagined honor culture, weaponizing his strength and untouchability. As soon as Euphoria was out, Nate Jacob was called the epitome of very toxic masculinity. The actor shared that he was not a sociopath in high school, so when he’s acting as Nate, he just does the opposite of what he would have done as a teenager.

Speaking about his big break in "The Kissing Booth," for which he trained twice a day, seven days a week, he mentioned, "You learn quickly that what people take away from those movies are your stature and your figure. You have all sorts of aged people around the world only talking about what you look like. " Further into the conversation, Jacob talks about how the talk of men being objectified happens rarely and adds, "I don’t think it’s a conversation that people have regarding men. It doesn’t keep me up at night, but it’s frustrating. You’ll go to a shoot, and you’ll be getting changed or something, and someone’s like, "Oooh, would you look?" Can you imagine if I said to a woman, "Daaaamn, look at your waist!"? Like, see you later. I would never do that, but I think people see it on their screens, so they think it’s okay. "

The actor mentioned that he sometimes gets concerned about how the focus on his body might influence audiences’ perception of him, and how that perception might affect his self-perception. "It’s a slippery slope to put all your value into the vanity of what your body looks like. Your body is going to deteriorate, "he adds.

During the interview with Men’s Magazine, Jacob was asked about his relationship with Kaia Gerber (they have broken up now but were dating when the interview happened) and the media attention it got. Jacob said, "She handles herself wonderfully publicly, and I’ve learned so much from her about how to handle it, how to deal with it and just kind of be whatever about it, you know?"

This surely comes after the fact that she has grown up in the spotlight, as she is the daughter of supermodel mother Cindy Crawford and entrepreneur father Rande Gerber, who helped the model keep her head straight. The couple was extremely private about their relationship but decided to go their separate ways after a year of dating. Kaia told Vogue, "Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don't want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions. Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone."

Jacob Elordi also addressed their relationship when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel and told the guest host Julie Bowen, "My girlfriend, within a week of us dating, she cut it off. She took me to the bathroom, and she got scissors and she cut it off. She said, 'You're cute, but you're not that cute.'"

When a Twitter user shared a picture of him with three women, Joey King, Zendaya, and Kaia Gerber, at the same outdoor market, Jacob responded by sharing a picture of himself video chatting with his parents with the caption, "This is a reminder that I am a human being." But he mentioned that he tries to ignore the attention he gets and adds, "I just want to be a part of the world." I want to have a life. I want to have the same 80- or 85-year experience that everyone has. I don’t want to miss anything by sitting on some overly sour pile of candy. "

The Australian actor often gets suspicious of his fan base in Australia, as it is a country that fosters a kind of militant humility in its citizens. He explains, "It’s a tall-poppy syndrome. The principle of it is nice as it helps me check me a lot of the time and make sure that my head is not, you know, the size of an air balloon. But at the same time, sometimes it can be quite crippling because you don’t want to accept any of the praise or good things that come from the work." The tall-poppy syndrome is when an individual can be successful but shouldn’t be too successful or do too much to put themselves in the public eye.

Jacob shared that he moved to America when he was 19-years-old, and he barely knew anybody, and nothing had changed. He said, "I know a few people. I have a few friends. But I’m not mad about it. I’m here to work, and then I’ll get home as soon as I can. Some people work for decades trying to crack it, so I’m definitely aware and definitely gracious for the luck that I’ve had. "

In his November interview with Esquire, Jacob opened his heart and shared, "I used to worry a lot about what people thought about me, and about the kind of actor I was because of the movies I'd made. I just felt very corny, and I felt like I had to prove to everyone that I was a serious actor. I felt terribly misunderstood. I got a little of time off because I made a teen movie. I don't want to come to the end of my career and not have been candid and said what's going on and how it feels. So this is the start of me being open, I guess. "

Talking about Kaia Gerber, she was recently spotted with Vanessa Hudgens’ ex, Austin Butler, as the two of them were spotted attending a yoga class together. Whereas, Jacob Elordi was spotted grabbing coffee with Olivia Jade in L.A.’s trendy Silver Lake neighborhood.

Kaia Gerber and Jacob Elordi made their relationship red carpet official in September when they appeared at the opening of the Museum of Motion Pictures Gala. Seems like the two are doing great post their breakup.
