Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes took to social media to pay a heartwarming tribute to friend and Outer Banks stand-in Alexander Jennings, who recently passed away in a hit and run crash.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident, which occurred on a Tuesday morning in North Charleston, South Carolina, where the Outer Banks cast and the crew was filming season three. The sheriff said in a statement that a male pedestrian was walking on the road shortly before 2:30 am when he was struck by a vehicle that did not wait or check up on the pedestrian but decided to flee the scene.

The pedestrian who was struck was later transported to a hospital nearby where he died. The officials of the CCSO’s Traffic Services Unit have started to investigate the matter, although no charges have been filed. The male pedestrian who was struck was later identified as Alexander Jennings, and Kimmie Stewart Casting confirmed the passing of the actor by releasing a statement on Facebook. The statement read that the Outer Banks crew and cast have suffered a terrible loss as Alexander Jennings passed away after two cars struck him on Tuesday morning.

According to the agency's statement, Alexander Jennings traveled to Charleston from New York to serve as their John B photo stand this season on Outer Banks. He was described as a wonderful, gentle guy and a bright light every day on the set. They continued by saying that they are unable to comprehend the grief and shock of Alexander Jennings' unexpected passing. The 22-year-old actor's family and friends are in Kimmie Stewart Casting's thoughts at this trying time, the casting agency's statement concluded.

When season one debuted in April 2020, the program was an immediate smash, and season 2, which debuted on the streaming service in July 2021, maintained its momentum.
