ABC pulls out the Backstreet Boys’ holiday special.

The aftermath of Nick Carter being sued for sexual battery by an autistic fan has resulted in ABC pulling off the Backstreet Boys holiday special "A Very Backstreet Holiday."

According to media stories, after Shannon "Shay" Ruth held a news conference and publicly announced that she has wants to sue Nick Carter for sexually molesting her in 2001 when she was 17 years old, the network decided to cancel the holiday special that has been scheduled to air on December 14th.

Nick Carter and other band members, including AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richarson,  and Howie Dorough, videotaped the special in Los Angeles earlier this month.  To commemorate the holiday season, the Backstreet Boys videotaped a special featuring songs from their 10th studio album, "A Very Backstreet Christmas." The special also featured Seth Rogen,  Rob Riggle, Meghan Trainor, Ron Funchess, Nikki Glaser, and  Atsuko Matsumoto.

Shay Ruth mentioned during the news conference, which had been held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, that the musician welcomed her on his tour bus in 2001 after a Backstreet Boys concert in Tacoma, Wash., and provided her a red drink, which Ruth now claims to believe was vodka and cranberry juice. Ruth, who is autistic and has cerebral palsy, stated that Nick Carter ended up taking her to the bathroom and asked her to perform a sex act on him before taking her to bed and sexually assaulting her.

Shannon "Shay" Ruth added that she's been living in immense pain, uncertainty, and sadness for the past 21 years and that as a result of what happened, she attempted suicide, but now she deserves justice to prevent Nick Carter from assaulting anyone else women. Ruth also acknowledged that the singer contaminated her with HPV during the abuse, and when she attempted to prevent him and decided to tell him she was going to tell everyone, Nick Carter informed her that no one would genuinely think that her story is true.

Nick Carter's attorney, Michael Holtz, has now decided to respond on his behalf, asserting that Shay Ruth's allegations about the altercation that allegedly occurred 21 years ago are not only lawfully baseless but also completely untrue. He stated that Shay Ruth was regretfully exploited into making these heinous allegations against Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter and that the allegations have changed repeatedly and materially over time. Michael Holtz went on to say that no one should be duped into falling for this extravagant press confrontation stunt organized by an unscrupulous lawyer, claiming that there is no reality of the situation in the claims and hoping that the authorities will see it as well!

Nick Carter was recently spotted in New York City with his fellow Backstreet Boys members and seemed carefree and unbothered about the accusations. The singer waved to the fans that waited outside the Empire State Building for the band. The news of Nick Carter being sued for sexual battery comes a month after his brother Aaron Carter's sudden demise. Nick Carter even though saddened by the loss has continued to fulfill his work obligations.
