Jersey Shore alums are not happy with the reboot news.

MTV recently announced plans to reboot Jersey Shore with Jersey Shore 2.0, bringing a new generation of young people to the famed beaches and boardwalks along the Atlantic to make new memories all summer. The original castmates have decided to release a joint letter to the network condemning their decision to release the reboot, which does not involve the original members.

Nicole Polizzi, Mike Sorrentino, Pauly DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni Farley, Angelina Pivarnick, and Deena Nicole Cortese shared an unified letter to the network on social media. The members posted a letter that read as the people who took a chance with the network in need, they put out their most vulnerable moments on television for the entire world to witness, and each one of them gave their everything over the past 13 years to the network and became a family, and they continue to do so.

The statement continued that the network should understand that they do not support the new version of the show, which is going to take away their originality, hard work, and authenticity to gain support, love, and viewers. They also mentioned their show and suggested that viewers watch all of the new seasons of Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

The cast's united statement did not include Samantha Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. Samantha Giancola has stayed away from the Jersey Shore: Family Reunion remake in general after her relationship with Ronnie Ortiz Magro soured, while Ronnie Ortiz-Magro left earlier this year to seek mental health therapy.

According to the network's statement that announced the reboot of the show read that it has been over 13 years since the legendary cast of Jersey Shore fist-pumped (signature dance move of the OG cast) their way into the lives and hearts of the people and have managed to stay there for years. But now the time-honored tradition continues with a new group of housemates coming into their Shore mansion. The statement continued that the cast may have exchanged their proofs for plumped pouts and UV rays for spray tans, but when things heat up in Jersey, the coastline is still the place to make memories.

The original Jersey Shore premiered in 2009 with Mike Sorrentino known as Mike The Situation, Nicole Polizzi as Snooki, Jenni Farley as JWOWW, Samantha Giancola as Sammi Sweetheart, Pauly DelVecchio as DJ Pauly D, Vinny Guadagnino, Angelina Pivarnick, and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro as roommates who spent their summers in New Jersey. Following Angelina Pivarnick’s exit in 2011, Deena Nicole Cortese joined as a full-time cast member and eventually the cast members have become a family being by each others side through thick and thin.

The cast members concluded the production in 2012 and returned six years later with a spinoff series, however, Samantha Giancola declined to participate due to her rocky relationship with Ronnie Ortiz Magro. She did not want to be around Ronnie, according to a source at the time, so dropping out of the program sounded like a perfect choice, and she has been enjoying her life off the show and prefers it that way.

The source mentioned that after the joint letter and the original cast members announcing that they are not okay with the reboot, the source mentioned that the network did not see this coming and had called the cast ungrateful and disgusting before adding that it comes as a shock that they would take a swipe at the network like this. There has been no word from the network after the unified statement from the original cast was posted.
