Apparently, Corinne Foxx, daughter of Jamie Foxx, could have changed her last name!

Foxx is definitely a well-known and respected name in the Hollywood industry and does carry a significant value of power when it comes to it. Though the Oscar winning actor, Jamie Foxx's daughter is definitely 'proud' of his father, she shared that she was almost on the verge of dropping the last name, and the heavyweight power came with it.

Evidently, Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne Foxx shared that she had once come to the decision of dropping off her last name and changing it to something else. Presumably, the star's daughter wanted to build her own identity and reality by dropping off the connections that came with the last name of her very famous actor dad.

The lady, aged 27, shared her decision as she said, “I did consider, honestly, changing my last name.” She shared the shocking news as she was on the sets of the More Than a Name project by Together. The show is a series that follows the lives of the children of the famous celebs of Hollywood and questions them about their elite life.

The established actor's eldest daughter cleared things up as she said, “But as I’ve gotten older I’ve, one, made peace with people are gonna think things about me that I have no control of.” The lady also added that she is very proud of who her father is and continued, “And two, I’m proud of my dad and I’m proud of who he is and I’m proud of the work he’s done. I’m proud of just the person that he is.” Notably, Jamie Foxx is an oscar-winning actor who had grabbed the very desired award in the year 2005 for his character in the film Ray.

Corinne Foxx, who is now also an actress, has graduated from the University of Southern California and is now following in her father's footsteps. The lady has done some great work in the horror film  47 Meters Down: Uncaged, a sequel to the original installment. She has also appeared in Safety and All-Star Weekend. Sharing why she has taken to the decision of not changing her last name, the budding actress shared, “Holding onto his name and being proud of my last name is actually something I’ve had to grow into.”

Corinne was born to Jammie Fox and his former partner Connie Kline. The former couple had dated in 1993. The actor is also the father to his child with another former partner, Kristin Grannis. They both share Annalise Bishop, aged 12, together. The actress, Corinne, is also very close to her mother Connie, who is a veteran Air Force worker and a professional accountant.

Talking about her parents and the kind of parenting they used when they brought her up, Corinne revealed, “My parents did a really good job at instilling in me that my dad’s fame and the red carpet premieres and all of that, that was not normal.” Corinne was a student at the Sierra Canyon high school, known for its elite atmosphere, where the actress had tried her hands at dancing. Continuing with her tale of being brought up by her famous father, she revealed that her parents taught her, “This was fun for right now but this could all go away in two seconds.”

Of course, what troubled the lady the most was when people generally guessed at the privilege that might come with her dad being a famous Oscar winner and a well-known name in the industry. She said, “I had a lot of people telling me, ‘You don’t have to go to college. You can just go straight into the entertainment world, doors will open for you. You could be making millions of dollars.” Thinking back to her high school experience in senior year, she said, “I just grew up my whole life and I didn’t want to just ride on my dad’s coattails. I wanted to, you know, make my own name, do things myself.”

Still, in the end, she finally decided to keep her original name. The actress also acknowledges that her father's famous actor status did help her in her life. She revealed, “I have, of course, been incredibly privileged to do so many incredible things in my life because of my dad’s career.” She added, “I went to South Africa with Oprah when I was twelve, things that are pretty surreal."

Continuing, she added, "So, I am forever grateful for the privileged life I’ve had but I think a lot of people might assume I get a lot of opportunities handed to me and I don’t have to work hard. And that is a hard thing for me to accept because I work really hard, and I’ll be the first to admit that doors open for me, but I have to show up full force if those doors do open. So that is a tough one sometimes.”

She also added how she has understood the power that comes with being privileged and that she also recognizes her duty to make the best out of it. She shared, “At an early age I realized that people were going to be interested in what I was going to say and the things I did. I just made a decision very early on, and I said, ‘Fine I didn’t really ask for this but if you are going to be interested in me then at least let me introduce you to things that are positive and uplifting."
